Exploring Classroom

Step 1: Create Classes
Click o n the plus
(+) sign, a n d select
“create class.”
Enter the class name
& section number.
Repeat this step for
each class.
Once y o u have
created a folder for
all classes, y o u r
home screen
should look similar
to this page.
In order to c h a n g e
the theme of y o u r
class, open one of
yo u r classe s & click,
“Change class theme.”
Y ou m a y also customize
y o u r class b y adding
information & content to
y o u r class “About” page.
Step 2: Add Students
Click o n the
name of one of
y o u r classes.
Y ou h ave arrived at the
home screen of y o u r
selected class. In order to
a d d studen ts to y o u r
class, click o n “students.”
Y ou m a y a d d studen ts to
y o u r class b y clicking “ADD”
a n d manually selecting
each student.

Stu de nts m a y join y o u r


class b y using the
class code located
here.
If y o u choo se to add
studen ts manually, select
the box next to the name
of each student in that
particular class.
Once y o u h ave selected all
the stu de nts in y o u r
class, click “Add Students.”
Once y o u h ave added
students to y o u r class, the
n a m e s of all stu de nts will
be listed un de r the
“Students” tab a s shown.
Step 3: Create Announcements
& Assignments
In order to po st a n
announcement, click
“Announcement” o n the
Stream.
When posting an
announcement, y o u m a y
select multiple classes to
receive the announcement.
In order to post a n
assignment, click
“Assignment” o n the
Stream.
Once y o u h ave posted
the assignment,
stu de nts will be able
to a c c e s s it o n their
class Stream.
Y ou will also be able to
see h o w m a n y
students hav e turned
in the assignment o n
y o u r stream.
Y ou m a y also review
the assignment details
a n d assignment status
for each individual
student.
After stu de nts turn in
the assignment, the
teacher will be notified.
Y ou m a y leave
feedback for students
o n their individual
assig nmen ts upon
return.
In addition to feedback,
y o u m a y also a ss i g n
g r a d e s to each
student assignment.
Step 4: Integrate
with Google
Drive
Classroom creates a
Google Drive folder
for each created
class.
E v e ry class folder will
include subfolders for
every assignment
created. Students’
submitted assignments
will g o directly to the
assignment folder.

Step 1: Join Classes
Stu de nts can easily
navigate between classes
b y using the menu button.

In order to join a
class, studen ts can
accept the
invitation sent b y
his or her teacher,
or can enter the
class code.
The menu button
will allow stu de nts to
navigate between
classes, check
assignments, or
c h a n g e settings.
Step 2: Submit
Assignments
The students’
home screen will
display the n ame s
of all their classes,
teachers, &
upcoming
assignments.
The “Assignments” pa g e
will keep track of p as t and
upcoming assignments.

to view upcoming
assig nmen ts for all classes.
Students can also
access, complete, and
turn in their
assig nmen ts from the
class Stream.
Once the teacher h a s
g ra ded a n d returned the
submitted assignment,
the student m a y ac cess
his o r her g ra de o n the
“Assignments” page.
Step 3: Communicate
Studen ts c an post
comments,
attachments, YouTube
videos, a n d links directly
to the class Stream.
Stude nts m ay
communicate directly
with the teacher on
assi gn me nts using the
comment feature.
Step 4: Integrate with
Google Drive
Classroom
automatically creates a
Google Drive folder for
each class.
