Introduction
• 7c’s of communication is essential in every aspect in our life, whether it
be at home, at work or with our friends. A person who can communicate
effectively will always have the advantage when dealing with people .
• The 7 C’s of Communication is a checklist that helps to improve the
professional communication skills and increases the chance that the
message will be understood in exactly the same way as it was intended.
• The 7c’s of communication are 7 attributes that you need to keep in mind
while communicating your message.
7 C’s of Communication
Courteousness: নম্রতা
Conciseness: সংক্ষিপ্ততা
Correctness: সঠিকতা
Completeness: সম্পূর্ণতা
Consideration: বিবেচনা
Concreteness: সংযততা
Clearness: স্বচ্ছতা
1. Clear
• The message should be very much clear and easily understandable to the
recipient. The purpose of the communication should be clear to sender.
• You should always Choose precise words rather longer statements.
• If you have a choice between long words and shorter one, always use shorter
one.
• You should try your level best to use familiar/easy to understand words so that
your reader will quickly understand it

It makes understanding easier.
Clear message makes use of exact,
appropriate and concrete words.
2. Correct
• The message should be correct, i.e. a correct language should be used, and
the sender must ensure that there is no grammatical and spelling mistakes.
Also, the message should be exact and well-timed. The correct messages
have a greater impact on the receiver and at the same time, the morale of
the sender increases with the accurate message.
The message is exact, correct and well-timed.
If the communication is correct, it boosts up the confidence level.
Correct message has greater impact on the audience/readers.
It makes use of appropriate and correct language in the message.
3. Complete
• The message should be complete, i.e. it must include all the relevant
information as required by the intended audience. The complete
information gives answers to all the questions of the receivers and helps in
better decision-making by the recipient.
Complete communication helps in better decision-making by the
audience/readers/receivers of message as they get all desired and crucial
information.
4. Concrete
• The communication should be concrete, which means the message should
be clear and particularly such that no room for misinterpretation is left. All
the facts and figures should be clearly mentioned in a message so as to
substantiate to whatever the sender is saying.
It is supported with specific facts and figures.
It makes use of words that are clear and that build the reputation.
Concrete messages are not misinterpreted.
5. Concise
• The message should be precise and to the point. The sender should avoid
the lengthy sentences and try to convey the subject matter in the least
possible words. The short and brief message is more comprehensive and
helps in retaining the receiver’s attention.
How To achieve the conciseness ?
For achieving the conciseness you have to consider the following.
1.Avoid wordy expression (e.g. Wordy:- at this time. Instead of “at this time ”
you can just use only a concise word:- NOW , Always try to use “ To the point
Approach ”) 3.Avoid unnecessary repetition.
2. Avoid un-necessary Repetition
• Some times repetition is necessary for focusing some special issue.
• But when the same thing is said with out two or three reasons, the message become wordy and
boring.
• That’s why try to avoid Un-necessary repetition
Some ways to eliminate unnecessary words
• Use shorter name after you have mentioned the long once. e.g. Spectrum communications
Private limited use spectrum.
• Use pronouns or initials E.g. Instead of world trade organization use WTO or You can use IT
for Information Technology.( keeping in views that receiver knows about these terms)
It is both time-saving as well as cost-saving.
Concise communication provides short and essential message in limited words to the audience.
Concise message is more appealing and comprehensible to the audience.
Concise message is non-repetitive in nature.
6. Consideration
• The sender must take into consideration the receiver’s opinions, knowledge, mindset, background,
etc. in order to have an effective communication. In order to communicate, the sender must relate to
the target recipient and be involved.
• It is very important in effective communication while writing a message you should always
keep in mind your target group consideration is very important “C” among all the seven C’s.
Emphasize on “you” approach.
Empathize with the audience and exhibit interest in the audience. This will stimulate
a positive reaction from the audience.
Show optimism towards your audience. Emphasize on “what is possible” rather than
“what is impossible”. Lay stress on positive words such as jovial, committed,
thanks, warm, healthy, help, etc.
7. Courteous
• It implies that the sender must take into consideration both the feelings
and viewpoints of the receiver such that the message is positive and
focused at the audience. The message should not be biased and must
include the terms that show respect for the recipient.
Courtesy implies taking into consideration both viewpoints as well as feelings of the receiver of the
message.
Courteous message is positive and focused at the audience.
It makes use of terms showing respect for the receiver of message.
It is not at all biased.
