 If you do not understand the assignment/prompt, you are
already off to a rough start.
 Make sure you are clear in what you are supposed to be

Step 1: PreWriting
• Find your Inspiration!
• Determine your most useful
form to PreWrite (lists,
mapping, webbing, graphic
organizers, etc.)

• Select your writing ideas from your PreWriting
Exercise.
• Write, Write, Write!
• Don’t worry about format, grammar, etc.
• Just focus on putting ideas down on paper.
• Rough Drafts shouldn’t be perfect!
• Have you completed your thoughts through
your writing?

• A.R.R.R. Adding: Is there any other information that
the reader needs to know?
 Adding
Rearranging: Is the information presented in
 Rearranging the most logical order?

Step 5: Publishing
• TYPED FINAL DRAFT IN MLA FORMAT
• Center title.
• Name, class, and date in top left hand corner.
• Double spaced
• Make sure all edits and revisions are included.
• Read through a final time before submitting.
• Staple in top left hand corner.
• Include a copy of rubric for grading.
