LECTURE 2:
IDENTIFY PARTS OF A WHOLE
“It is not the strongest or the most intelligent who will
survive but those who can manage change.”
- Leon C. Megginson
Each part of something is connected to the whole of that
something, and every whole has its own parts. It cannot be
considered as whole if it does not have parts. Considering
this journey cannot be considered as a whole without this
part.
In the previous lesson, you have learned about the
characteristics of a trend. Today, you are going to ex-plore
how a certain trend becomes a trend. What are those parts
Definition of part
and whole
According to Merriam Webster’s Let’s try to review the
dictionary, part is one of the often illustrations in activity number
indefinite subdivisions into which one. If, the whole of those
something is regarded as divided and objects we’re not giv-en, how
which together constitute the whole. On can we identify its concept and
the other hand, whole means something meaning? On the other, if it is
constituting a complex unity: a coherent only the part was given
system or organization of parts or working unsurprisingly, we have
together as whole. It shows the totality of difficulty upon knowing what to
the pieces and segments that somehow we conceptualize.
consider as parts. We can identify that
something is part of a whole if we know
what all is that something about.
Let’s try to review the illustrations in
activity number one. If, the whole of
those objects we’re not giv-en, how
can we identify its concept and
meaning? On the other, if it is only
the part was given unsurprisingly, we
have difficulty upon knowing what
to conceptualize.
Take as example the Japanese animation (animé)
trend that is associated with
several generations spanning decades. In retrospect,
Urgel (2017) illustrated the
popularity of anime which was brought about by a
number of developments such as
the ones shown below.
