Country
Introduction
The European country I would like to visit would be
Switzerland. There are many reasons that justify why
Switzerland is my favorite European country. In this
presentation we will be discussing about Swiss cuisine,
scenery, Swiss chocolate, and snow sports.
Swiss Cuisine
Swiss cuisine is influenced by France, Germany and Italy.
Most Swiss food consists of basic ingredients such as cheese
and potato. Some of the Swiss cuisine includes: Raclette,
Fondue, and Rösti.
Raclette
Raclette is a Swiss dish, also popular in the
other Alpine countries, based on heating
cheese and scraping off the melted part, then
typically served with boiled potatoes. Raclette
cheese is historically a dish originating a part
of Switzerland known as Valais.
Fondue
Fondue is a Swiss melted cheese dish served in a communal
pot over a portable stove heated with a candle or spirit lamp,
and eaten by dipping bread into the cheese using long-
stemmed forks.
Rösti
Rösti is made with coarsely grated potato. Rösti are most
often pan-fried and shaped in the frying pan during cooking,
but they can also be baked in the oven.
Scenery
The amazing mountains, heaps of lakes and
beautiful villages make for the most beautiful
scenery in Switzerland. These landscapes is
what makes Switzerland the perfect destination
for vacationing and exploring new cultures. The
Alps make up 62% of Switzerland.
Swiss Chocolate
Swiss chocolate is any chocolate that is prepared in
Switzerland. Switzerland is known for having high quality of
chocolate. The first Milk chocolate was developed in
Switzerland which is statistically the most liked chocolate
type. One of the most famous Swiss chocolate is Toblerone.
Snow Sports
The popular snow sports played in Switzerland are Skiing,
Skating and Tobogganing.
Skiing
Skiing is the use of skis to glide on snow. Variations of purpose include
basic transport, a recreational activity, or a competitive winter sport.
With low-altitude mountains, sky-high peaks with near-vertical
drops ,powder-covered glaciers, and gently rolling Alpine forests, it's no
wonder skiing in Switzerland tops most travelers' wish lists.
Ice Skating
Ice skating is the self-propulsion and gliding of a person across
an ice surface, using metal-bladed ice skates. People skate for
various reasons, including recreation, exercise, competitive
sports, and commuting.
Tobogganing
Tobogganing is the sport of sliding down snow-covered slopes
and artificial-ice-covered chutes on a runner less sled called
a toboggan.
