Gender socialization is the process by which individuals are taught to


behave as acceptable males and females in society. Although people are
biologically male or female, their behavior is either feminine or
masculine. These difference in behavior are culturally created.

gender stereotypes. They constantly remind the public of what a men and
women are required to be.

Now, woman are capable of more than just cooking or house works; they can also do
what other men can do. There are also some male characters shown in the video as soft
spoken man who are respectful to women, less aggressive and portrayed as warm and
floppy.

Internet has a great influence on young people even on the elderly


because it is huge network that could reach the mass of the people. The
images, messages and videos produced by media or on the internet
strongly influence how people understand the world. From early
childhood, gender stereotypes presented in media play a key role of
gender socialization.

Women have been portrayed in media in less dominant or powerful roles than
men. Men have been portrayed as more aggressive or violent than women. They
also taught women and men on what they should wear and act according to their
gender.

Women now portrayed as more confident, dominant, stronger, that they


can also lead. Some men, on the other hand are still portrayed as
aggressive and strong; but other men have seen also more confident on
what and/or how they feel and their emotions. In addition, some of them
are more confident on how they should behave or act.
