There are four main types of trade unions: crafts unions which represent workers with specific skills across industries; general unions which include workers with various skills from different industries; industrial unions which represent all workers within a particular industry; and white collar unions which represent certain professions such as pilots and teachers.

Types of Trade Unions:

• There are basically four main types of trade Unions. These are:
1. Crafts Unions : These represents workers with particular skills,
for example plumbers and weavers. These workers may be
employed in a number of industries.
2. General Unions: These unions include workers with a range of
skills and form a range of industries.
3. Industrial Unions: These seek to represent all the workers in a
particular industry , for example, those in the rail industry.
4. White collar unions: These unions represent particular
professions, including pilots and teachers.
