What is Earth Made of?

EARTH
It is the only known planet where people, animals, and
plant live.
It is the planet where we live.
The environment is made up of three parts: land, water,
and air.
These help plants, animals, and humans to live and
grow.
Almost ¼ of Earth is made up of land.
PLAIN

A hill is a place that is smaller


than a mountain. It is a good
grazing place for horses, goats
and, cattles because of the
grasses that grow in this place.
E.g. Chocolate Hills in Bohol.
A plain or flat land is a low
level land. Most people live on
the plain. Farmers also grow HILLS
crops on a plain.
Mountain

A mountain that has an opening is called


A mountain that has volcano.

A mountain is a high place that


is covered with forest trees.

VALLEY

It is a flat land on top of a mountain.


Example of plateau is Baguio City.

A flat land between two high places like a


mountain or a hill.
Cagayan Valley is the largest valley in
our country.
Water Forms on Earth
OCEAN
The sea is also a big expanse of salty water, but
is smaller than the ocean. It is wide and deep,
and also provide home to many sea creatures.
To the West of our country is the West
Philippine Sea.

Ocean is the largest body of water. It is salty,


and home of the big sea creatures like
whales, sharks, octopuses, giant manta rays,
and many more. SEA
The biggest ocean is the Pacific Ocean.
RIVER

POND

A river is a large natural stream of


fresh flowing water. The water is not
salty.
Lakes and ponds are bodies of water that
are surrounded by land, but a lake is
bigger than a pond.
Spring water is water that flows out of
WATERFALLS rocks or from cracks in caves or ground.
When hot water comes out of the
cracks, it is called hot spring.

SPRING

A waterfall is a body of water that falls


from a higher place.
