 Fifth largest nation in the world.
 It forms an enormous triangle on

the eastern side of the continent


with a 4,500-mile coastline along
the Atlantic Ocean.
 Borders with South American

country except Chile and Ecuador.

 Developing mixed economy
 12th largest in the world by nominal gross
domestic product (GDP).
 World giants of mining, agriculture,
and manufacturing.
 Rapidly growing service sector.
 Leading producer of minerals, including iron
ore, tin, bauxite, gold etc.

UNEMPLOYMENT RATE
Brazil’s unemployment rate dropped to 12.1 percent in the three
months to October 2021, from 13.7 percent in the three months
to July 2021, and below market expectations of 12.3 percent.

 GDP of Brazil is previously 1444.73 USD BILLION [ACC TO DEC 2020]
 GDP in Brazil is expected to reach 1620.00 USD Billion by the end of
2021.

INFLATION RATE
Brazil's annual inflation hit
a six-year high of over
10% in 2021.

GDP GROWTH RATE
Considering full year of 2021, the Brazilian
economy advanced 4.6%, the most since
2010, recovering from a 3.9% pandemic-
induced contraction.

POVERTY RATE
Because of the pandemic, about
an estimated 13% of Brazil finds
itself in poverty as of March 2021.

PER CAPITA INCOME
The Gross Domestic Product per capita in Brazil was last
recorded at 8228.79 US dollars in 2020.
 The GDP per Capita in Brazil is equivalent to 65 percent of

the world's average.

IMPORT AND EXPORT
 The top exports of Brazil
are Soybeans, Crude Petroleum, Iron
Ore, Corn, and Sulfate Chemical Woodpulp
exporting mostly to China, United
States, Argentina, Netherlands, and Japan.
 The top imports of Brazil are Refined
Petroleum, Vehicle Parts, Crude
Petroleum, Integrated Circuits,
and Pesticides, importing mostly
from China, US, Germany, and South Korea.

CURRENCY EXCHANGE RATE
BRL is the currency abbreviation symbol for the Brazilian
real (BRL) the currency for Brazil.
 The Brazilian real is made up of 100 centavos and is often

presented with the symbol R$. As of September 14, 2021, 1


USD is equal to roughly 5.26 BRL.

SOURCE OF INCOME

The services sector is the largest sector in


Brazil contributing almost 65% to its gross
domestic product.
 The decreasing share of agriculture and

industry was taken by the service sector,


which has contributed more than 50% of the
country's GDP since the 1990s.

MAJOR CHALLENGES OF THE COUNTRY
 Problems in infrastructure (especially in
ports, roads and logistics)
 A complex tax system.
 Excessive regulation result in low levels of

public and private investment.


 An uncompetitive economy with a low

 Brazil has serious problems with crime.
