1.The meaning of sustainable
development

Sustainable development is an organizing principle for

achieving human development goals while preserving the
ability of natural systems to provide the natural resources and
ecosystem services on which the economy and society depend.
The desired outcome is a state of society in which living
conditions and resources are used to continue to meet human
needs without undermining the integrity and stability of the
natural system.
2.Goals of sustainable development:
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) or the Global Goals are
a set of 17 interconnected global goals designed to be “a common
blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and planet, now and in
the future.” The Sustainable Development Goals were set in 2015 by
the United Nations General Assembly (UN-GA) and aim to achieve
them by 2030. They are included in a United Nations General
Assembly resolution called Agenda 2030 or what is colloquially
known as the 2030 Agenda. sustainable development in the post-
2015 development agenda as the future global development
framework to succeed the Millennium Development Goals, which
expired in 2015.
3. My Chosen Goal is Life on
Land:
Human life depends on the land as much as on the ocean for
our sustenance and sustenance. Plant life provides 80 percent
of human food, and we rely on agriculture as an important
economic resource and a means for development. Forests
account for 30 percent of the Earth's surface, provide vital
habitats for millions of species and important sources of
clean air and water; As well as being critical in the fight
against climate change.
4. Progress of Life on Land (Goal 15):

COMBAT GLOBAL POACHING AND TRAFFICKING
5- Sustainable examples of local organizations
which worked on achieving the goal:

Land degradation affects more than 60% of global soil

resources, due mostly to intensive agriculture and
deforestation. Degraded land influences the lives of
more than 1 billion people who rely on this land for
food production. To protect and sustainably use the
world’s natural resources, countries work with the
IAEA and its partners, such as the Food and
Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO),
toward the United Nations Sustainable Development
Goal (SDG) 15 on protecting, restoring and promoting
the sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems,
sustainably manage forests, combat desertification,
halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity
loss.
