Mallet (Rubber Head) Claw Hammer

Types of Hammer
C. Splicing / Gripping / Holding Tools
Pliers - These tools are made from
metal with insulators in the
handle and are used for cutting,
twisting, bending, holding, and
gripping wires and cables.
C. Splicing / Gripping / Holding Tools
Combination Pliers (Linesman’s Pliers) -
This is used for gripping, holding, and
cutting electrical wires and cables and even
small nails. They are usually used by
linemen in doing heavy tasks.
C. Splicing / Gripping /
Holding Tools
Side Cutting Pliers -
This type of pliers is
used for cutting fine,
medium, and big and
cable.
C. Splicing / Gripping /
Holding Tools
Long Nose Pliers - This
is used for cutting and
holding fine wires. This
can reach spaces or
small openings where
other pliers cannot
reach and is also used in
making terminal loops
of copper wires.
C. Splicing / Gripping /
Holding Tools
Wire Stripper - This is a
tool used for stripping or
removing the insulation
of connecting wires
ranging from gauge #10
to gauge #16.
Type of Wire Stripper
Manual - has round holes that
correspond to wire size. Removing of
insulation is done while squeezing and
pulling out wire. This can also be used to
cut medium sized copper wires.
Type of Wire Stripper
Automatic - operated by squeezing where one
end
will hold the wire and the other will remove
the insulation,
has spring to retain to original position.
C. Splicing / Gripping
/ Holding Tools
Electrician’s Knife -
This is used by
linemen to remove
insulation of wire
and cables in low
and high voltage
transmission lines.
C. Splicing / Gripping / Holding Tools
Hacksaw - This tool is used for cutting pipes/conduit and cables.
It is also used for cutting big conductors.

E. Boring Tools
Portable Electric Drill - A small
drilling machine with a chuck
capacity of ¼ to 3/8 inch. It is
used in making holes on metal
sheets and concrete walls.
E. Boring Tools
Gimlet – This is a
wire like boring
tool used in
making initial
holes for split
knob

and thickness of short flat
Electrical Measuring Instrument / Equipment

Multimeter or Multi-
tester – It is an electrical
device that measures
voltage, current and
resistance.
Pipe bender – a
tool used to bend
rigid metallic
conduit using
hands and/or
foot
Hydraulic Pipe
bender – this type of
bender uses
hydraulic (oil)
pressure to bend
various sizes of
metallic pipes.
Angle Grinder – an
electric tool that has a
replaceable disc and
can be used in
cutting, grinding, and
polishing.
the most common
electrical
materials/devices:
Convenience Outlet (CO)- is a
device that acts as a convenient
source of electrical energy for
current consuming appliances. It
is where the male plug of an
appliance is inserted and usually
fastened on the wall or connected
in an extension cord. This can be
surface type or flush type.
Switch - is a device that
connects and disconnects the
flow of electric current in a
circuit. There are many
shapes, designs and types
and are classified as hanging,
flush and surface types.
Receptacle - is a device that
holds the lamp in place to safely
Flush type
connect the wires to the circuit.
This is usually made of porcelain or
plastic and classified as flush,
hanging (weather-proof/chain) and
surface types.

Hanging type
Hanging type
Junction Box - an octagonal
shaped electrical material where
the connections or joints of wire
are being done. It is also where
the flush type receptacle is
attached. This could be made of
metal or (PVC)
Polyvinylchloride.
Utility Box - a rectangular
shaped metallic or plastic
(PVC) material where flush
type convenience outlets
and switches are attached.
Male Plug - a device
inserted to a convenience
outlet from a current
consuming appliance.
Conduits/Pipes - electrical materials
used as the passage of wires for
protection and insulation. These
could be rigid metallic, rigid
nonmetallic, flexible nonmetallic,
and flexible metallic conduit
Fuse - a circuit protective device that
automatically melts the thin strand
of wire inside to cut the current when
an overload or short circuit happens.
Circuit breaker – a protective device
that is reusable after tripping, used to
cut off the current automatically
when trouble in the circuit such as
short circuit or overload occurs.
Electrical Wire – usually made of copper/aluminum,
serves
as the conductor of electricity. It can be:

Solid wire Stranded wire

Clamps - electrical
materials used to hold
and anchor electrical
conduits to their proper
position.
Connectors - used to
attach metallic or
nonmetallic conduit
to
the junction or utility
boxes.
