Input & Output Devices P

Input devices send data to computers for processing, such as keyboards sending electrical signals as text input. Output devices receive processed data from computers and display it, such as monitors displaying text. The main differences are that input devices accept user data while output devices display processed data to the user, and input devices are more complex in design while output devices are less complex.

Input & Output devices

types and functions:

input device
• An input device sends information to a
computer system for processing.
• Input devices only allow for input of data to a
computer.
• For example, a keyboard sends electrical
signals, which are received as input. Those
signals are then processed by the computer and
displayed, or output, on the monitor as text or
images.

Out put device
• An output device is a piece of computer
hardware that receives data(Input) from an
other device and then translates that data into
another form. That form may be audio, visual,
textual, or hard copy such as a printed
document.
