Water Level Indicator Project Presentation

This document describes a water level indicator circuit that uses resistors, transistors, a buzzer, LEDs, diodes, and a transformer. It works by connecting wires to transistors at different water levels in a tank. When the water touches a wire, that transistor's LED will turn on, indicating the water level. If the water reaches the highest wire, the buzzer will sound to signal overflow. This circuit allows monitoring water levels to prevent overflow or waste.

What is water level indicator
The water level indicator is defined as a system
which gets the information about the water level
in reservoirs or in tanks which is used in homes.
By using the water level indicator we can
overcome the overflow of water from the tanks.
NEED OF WATER LEVEL INDICATOR:

1. Over Flow Problems

2. To prevent wastage of water
3. To prevent wastage of energy
Equipment Needs

 Resistors
 Transistors
 Buzzer
 Different color LEDs
 Diodes
 Transformer
Details of Components
Bread-Board:
A bread-board is a construction base for
prototyping of electronics. It is used for
temporary prototyping and experimenting with
circuit diagram.
Details of Components

Resistors:
Resistor is a passive component used to control current in a circuit.
Its resistance is given by the ratio of voltage applied across its
terminals to the current passing through it.
Details of Components
Buzzer: The buzzer produces sound. It is also
used in alarm circuits.
Details of Components
Transistor:
In this circuit we use transistor, which is
a common emitter NPN transistor. This is
basically used for amplification and
switching purpose.
Details of Components

CAPACITOR

Capacitors is a widely used

electronic component. It stores
electric charge and then discharges it
into the circuit.

 It blocks the direct current and

allows the alternating current to pass
through it.

  One is connected with positive

voltage and other one with negative
voltage.
Details of
Components

LED
LED means "Light-Emitting Diode."
An LED is an electronic device that
emits light when an electrical
current is passed through it. LEDs
are commonly used for indicator
lights (such as power on/off lights)
on electronic devices
Details of Components
Diode:
A diode is a specialized electronic component with
two electrodes called the anode and the cathode. Most
diodes are made with semiconductor materials such as
silicon, germanium, or selenium. Diodes can be used
as rectifiers, signal limiters, voltage
regulators, switches, signal modulators, signal mixers,
signal demodulators, and oscillators.
Working
The operation of this project is very
simple and can be understood easily.
In our project “water level indicator”
there are 4 main conditions:

 There is very less water available

in the source tank.  There is large amount
 There is medium water available in of water available in
the source tank. the source tank or
 There is very high water available about to overflow.
in the source tank. So let us discuss on the
more about these 3
conditions.
Working
 After establishing the required connection as
shown in the circuit diagram, we place the
other ends of the 4 wires which are
connected to the base of the 4 transistors into
a bowl at 4 different levels of height.
 Suppose wire1 is at a lower height.
 Wire2 at a medium height.
 Wire3 is at a higher height.
 Wire4 at a height from which water is
supposed to overflow.
Working

 As we start pouring water into the

bowl, the water level touches the  As the water level crosses the
first wire (Wire1) which is at a lower maximum limit, the buzzer starts
level and the circuit gets completed beeping and thus sends an alarm
and current starts flowing and the so that we can stop the supply of

 Gradually, as the level of water goes  So, it turns us to be a very useful

(D2 and D3 glows) indicating that
the water has reached to maximum
height.
Applications of water level indicator
 Automatic Water level Controller can
be used in Hotels, Factories, Homes
Apartments, Commercial Complexes,
Drainage, etc.

 Fuel level indicator in vehicles.
