REM Profiles

The REM profile controls how repetitive manufacturing is carried out in the system by determining how activities are backflushed, which movement types are used for goods receipts and issues, and how planned order and run schedule quantities are reduced during backflushing. The REM profile contains information about production types, reporting points, goods movements, activities posting, firming plan orders, stock determination, batch determination, and movement types. REM profiles are created using transaction code OSPT and can be assigned in the material master and modified using transaction code OSP2.

What is mean by REM Profile?

 We use the REM profile to control how We want to carry out


planning and backflushing in repetitive manufacturing.

 The REM profile controls the way how REM is carried out in the
system.

 Repetitive manufacturing profiles are defined in Customizing for


Repetitive Manufacturing.
Uses
The repetitive manufacturing profile determines;

 how the system deals with activities when backflushing.

 which movement type is used to post goods receipts and goods issues.

 how planned order and run schedule quantities are reduced in the backflush
transaction.

 how BOM corrections are made - if errors should occur when posting quantities to
be backflushed.
The REM profile contains the below information:

1.REM production types

2.Reporting points

3.Automatic goods movements

4.Activities posting

5.Firming plan orders

6.Automatic stock determination

7.Batch determination procedure

8.Movement types for postings


This can be set up by following the below SAP configuration path or using the transaction code OSPT.

SPRO -> IMG -> Production -> Repetitive Manufacturing -> Control -> Create repetitive


manufacturing profile using assistant.
The REM profile is assigned in the material master MRP 4 tab.
Existing REM profiles can be changed from transaction code OSP2.
We can Create REM profile by using T code - OSPT
