Semantic relations can refer to relations between
concepts in the mind (called conceptual relations), or
relations between words (lexical relations) or text
segments. They are also sometimes called sense
relations, as some linguists maintain that they relate
particular senses of words (Lyons, 1977).

An antonym is a word that has the opposite meaning of
another word.

For example, the word small means of limited size, while


big means of large size.
