Simplifying Fractions
Objective:
• Change fraction to lowest term.

Step 2 - Think of a number that both sides of the fraction can be


divided by without any remainders.
I.e. a number that both 5 & 10 can be divided by.

Step 3 – When you have thought of a number try it as follows. We


will try ‘5’.

UNLIKE FRACTIONS
Unlike fractions have different denominators.

Adding or subtracting with unlike fractions isn’t that different from adding or
subtracting like fractions. You just have to find what their denominators have in
common.
