INTRODUCTION:

An online auction and e-commerce is held over the internet. It is a popular

method for buying and selling products and services. It helps the customer to
sell and buy product in best price. It is developed with the objective of making
the system reliable, easier and faster. Online auction are among the most
significant e-business applications. Their impact on trading in business to
business, as well as in the business to consumer and consumer to consumer
field is incredible. Day to Day use of Online Auction and e-commerce is
increasing. Customers are moving towards the online for purchasing and
selling items.
Abstract:
“ Shar.com “ is an auction + ecommerce web site aimed at taking the auction to
the finger tips of aspiring bidders there by opening up the doors of the "OPEN
Auction House' to a wider cross section of products. This site also acts as an
open forum where buyers and sellers can buy and sell their products. The
application is made as simple as surfing a website, That even a non-technical
persons can also interact with the processing on the application easily. The site
makes sure that the sellers get a fair deal and buyers get a genuine product.
Existing systems
OnSale (www.onsale.com)
Overview:
This review paper indicates that interesting developments are happening in both the
practice and research of online auctions.Online auction is fast growing exchange medium
for goods item via ecommerce technology. Sellers and buyers located around the world
now can auction of various items.
Research Gap:
●The item’s description given in site may not match with actual item. The current value of
item may be higher than current market value.

●A lot of people carried away in bidding contest that they tend to pay over the odds just to
get the item that they want.
●We can let people bidding talk with experienced auctioneers so that people can bid more
for the product.
Eachnet(www.eachnet.com)
Overview:
In this paper, a general framework was developed for evaluating the
relationships among various seller- and bidder-specific factors
affecting online auction outcomes. A highly popular eBay model of a
Chinese consumer-to-consumer online auction site. Based on
EachNet’s auction mechanisms, a general framework was
developed to guide the evaluation of various seller
Research gap:
● To a certain extent, a seller’s reputation in an online auction
transaction represents the trustworthiness and credibility of a
seller.Eachnet lacks in this area hence a reputation system becomes
essential
EBay
Overview:
In this study, we investigated the differences between individual sellers
and business sellers operating in the online marketplace. This study relied
largely on eBay's motor division's online auto auctions.

Research Gap:
● The proposed model did not consider the effect of unobserved
variables such as the reserve price and buyer's previous online
experience.
● Prior work suggests that buyers at eBay Motors are biased toward
older and cheaper cars.

Problem Statement

The need is to develop a system that offers maximum level of security as

commodities are involved in the process. The system must give exclusive access
to the buyers and sellers to put the product for selling . The registration of the
user is done on the website.its a tribrid where users can buy a product, sell a
product and bid on a product.
Objectives:
● The Objective is to develop a user-friendly website where user can
place bid on a product and provide value-added services to the
bidders and the sellers.
● The products will be authenticated and the site provides a safe
environment for online users
● In e-commerce part users can buy brand new product or used
product.
● Secure registration of all users including a personal profile
Administrators would add the product to auction, set auction dates
and Minimum auction amount i.e bid price for that product.
● Complete Search/Site Map of the entire site for easy access.
● Provision for payment.
Project Novelty

● The introduction of chatbot to make the

experience more user friendly.
● Shar where u can buy - sell - bid at a same
place,so it’s a tribrid.
● Commission taken through the website will be
given as charity,to a specific ngo by the admin.
Algorithm:

● Initialization - A new auction’s details are entered into the database by

the admin and auction is displayed in user interface.
● Registration - A new user’s details are entered into the database.
● Login - An existing user’s details are retrieved from the database.
● Price Quote - An existing auction’s details and bid history are retrieved
from the database.
● Bid Submission - A new bid’s details are entered into the database by
the users
● Auction Termination/Winner Determination - An existing
auction’s details and bid history are retrieved from the
database.and auction winner is decided based on the data. The winner
is determined according to the auction’s rules.
Social Impact

The Proceedings collected by the selling of the products will be

transferred to a specific NGO.Online auctions occur in asynchronous
time; buyers and sellers are not present in the same space at the same
time.Because research has shown information external to the auction
(e.g., the number of viewers, the number of bidders, bidder identification)
influences bidding behavior, information internal to the auction (e.g.,
presence of a reserve or minimum bid) has importantly been shown to
have the same effect

this website.

language which is used by several websites for scripting the webpages. It is an
interpreted, full-fledged programming language that enables dynamic
interactivity on websites when applied to an HTML document.
• Php:PHP is a recursive acronym for "PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor".
• PHP is a server side scripting language that is embedded in HTML. It is used to
manage dynamic content, databases, session tracking, even build entire e-
