Sub-system Name Function Description
BSP Drive Sub-system BSP drive sub-system can provide bootstrap and drive for the whole
system hardware, the detail functions are in three aspects: Boot
function, CPU mini system function and hardware equipment drive
function.
Operation System Sub-system it can shield all the equipments drive interfaces to subscriber
process, and provide single processor based process schedule,
timer, memory management, file system and multi-processors based
communication service between different processes.
System Control Sub-system Provides monitor, boot, versions download function to the whole
system
Database Sub-system it can manage CSCF’s service, signaling, protocol configuration
information and user context management. It can provide database
accessing interface to other sub-system. The database is relation
database, it consists of FE database and BE database.
Bearer Sub-system it can provide IP related bearer service to service sub-system, signal
ing sub-system, operation & maintenance sub-system. Bearer sub-sy
stem can manage exterior IP ports and provide IP packet communic
ation between NEs.
ZXUN CSCF Software Sub-system
Sub-system Name Function Description
Micro-code sub-system Micro-code sub-system runs upon mirco engine of network
processor, it’s independent from the operation system and can
provide interfaces to bearer sub-system.
Signaling Sub-system It can provide signaling function like: SIP, Diameter, DNS/ENUM
DNS and provide service to service sub-system. Signaling MP board
supports 1+1 backup mechanism. Load sharing of signaling MP
boards can be implemented with huge capacity
Service Sub-system Service sub-system is consists of the following function module:
Registration module, User context module, Session process module,
None-Session message process module, Mobility and security
manage module, Public service sub-system.
Operation & Maintenance Sub- Operation & Maintenance Sub-system runs upon all the sub-
system systems, maintenance engineer can do configuration, analysis,
charging, diagnosis operation towards equipments via operation &
maintenance sub-system and can obtain alarm, statistic data of the
equipments. Operation & Maintenance Sub-system consists of four
parts: Front-end module, server module, client module and charging
module.

ICSI Function
ICSI Definition
Defined by 3GPP, ICSI defines service names of each
kind of IMS standard service type, and registers on
IANA, such as urn:urnxxx:telephony.3gpp.mmt
ICSI Application
Terminals and application servers supporting multiple
service types identify correct service type in SIP
signaling efficiently, and run correct service logic.
Service control NEs in the IMS network, such as CSCF,
identifies the service type of SIP signaling and sends
this request to the terminal/AS supporting this service
type.
