V. RATIONALE
Most people claim to care for the environment, but what people care for and the
motives for their concern are vastly different. People see the environment as a
"common" that is open to anyone being overused and deteriorated. For immediate
personal gain, individuals continue to manipulate the environment, ignoring the long-
term consequences of their behavior. Sustaining the environment helps prevent global
warming and climate change. One example of the sustainability of the environment is
simply cleaning. Environmental cleanliness adds a lot to keeping a clean and green
environment. An easy but beneficial way to improve a safe environment is cleaning.
A Community Clean Up Drive promotes waste reduction, recycling and reuse and
create public awareness on waste management and environmental concerns, improves
outdoor recreational activities of the community and the quality of the natural
environment.
