Activity 1:” Swakto”
Mechanics:You are divided into two groups. Pictures of
food will be shown to you. The group who knows the name
of the food will post the first word of the day’s topic, the
game continues until you complete the set of words. The
group who revealed first the complete set of words in
correct order will be declared as winner .

Direction: With the same group, give at least 2

HISTORY:

The word dessert is derived from the French word desservir, which


translates to “to clear the table.” This origin is apt, considering that the first use
of desserts was to wash down the aftertaste of a large meal with something
sweet. Sweets were fed to the gods in ancient Mesopotamia and ancient India
and other ancient civilizations. Dried fruit and honey were probably the first
sweeteners used in most of the world, but the spread of sugarcane around the
world was essential to the development of dessert.

MOTIVATION
1. Dessert balances out a meal and gives “closure” to the meal.
2. Eating dessert is an opportunity to experience different flavors and
textures that you cannot get in other foods like vegetables, meats, and fruits.
3.Dessert can be an opportunity to be creative. You can make
interesting mixtures that you otherwise may not have thought of.
4. Dessert isn’t “fattening”. Remember, there is no such thing as a fattening food
5. It will make you feel like a kid again..
6. It is romantic.

Trivia: Our mouth contains specialized receptors for the sweet taste.
When they recognize a sugar molecule, they turn on a signaling pathway
that reaches the brain and stimulates a feeling of pleasure.

 Too much gelatine makes a dessert stiff and
rubbery, too little causes the desserts split
