This document discusses 2G counters for analyzing paging success rate (PSR) in 2G networks. It provides descriptions of various counters related to paging messages, CCCH load indications, delivered and discarded paging messages for CS and PS services, and paging expiries on the PCH. It also presents the formulas for calculating 2G PS and CS PSR based on paging request and response counters.

Summary Of Counters For Analyzing
Paging Success Rate in 2G
8th August, 2019 2G Counters For Analyzing PSR
L3188B:MSG CCCH LOAD IND (RACH) Messages Sent on Abis Interface
When the uplink CCCH (RACH) in the cell is overloaded, the BTS reports a CCCH LOAD IND (RACH OVERLOAD) message to the BSC. L3188C:MSG CCCH LOAD IND (PCH) Messages Sent on Abis Interface (CS Service) The BTS stores the paging messages from the BSC and the PCU on the downlink CCCH (PCH). When the length of the receiving buffer queue exceeds the threshold, the downlink CCCH is considered to be overloaded If the overload is due to heavy CS services, the BTS reports a CCCH LOAD IND message to the BSC L3188D:MSG CCCH LOAD IND (PCH) Messages Sent on Abis Interface (PS Service) The BTS stores the paging messages from the BSC and the PCU on the downlink CCCH (PCH). When the length of the receiving buffer queue exceeds the threshold, the downlink CCCH is considered to be overloaded If the overload is due to heavy CS services, the BTS reports a CCCH LOAD IND message to the BSC A330:Delivered Paging Messages for CS Service This counter provides the number of CS pagings over the Abis interface A331:Delivered Paging Messages for PS Service This counter provides the number of PS pagings over the Abis interface A338:Number of Expiries of the Paging for CS Services on the PCH This counter provides the number of times when the paging for CS services on the PCH expires during PCH Scheduling 2G Counters For Analyzing PSR
A340:Number of Expiries of the Paging for PS Services on the PCH
This counter provides the number of times when the paging for PS services on the PCH expires during PCH scheduling. A353A:Number of discarded SMS pagings on the Abis interface This counter provides the number of discarded SM pagings due to congestion on the Abis interface. A353B:Number of discarded CS pagings on the Abis interface This counter provides the number of discarded CS pagings due to congestion on the Abis interface. A353C:Number of discarded PS pagings on the Abis interface This counter provides the number of discarded PS pagings due to congestion on the Abis interface. 11. R373: Cell Out-of-Service Duration If the main BCCH of a cell is faulty, this cell is considered to be out of service. This counter measures the Cell Out-of-Service Duration 2G PSR Formula For CS And PS
