Computer

Cloud computing allows users to access software, data, and services over the Internet instead of a local computer. It provides on-demand access to shared computing resources like networks, servers, storage, applications and services. There are different types of cloud services including Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS). Cloud computing offers advantages like lower costs, flexibility, unlimited storage, and data security features. However, it also has disadvantages such as dependence on internet connectivity and potential security risks if data is not properly protected.

• I would like to express my special thanks of gratitude to
my teacher Mr. Kunal Gaurav, who gave me the golden
opportunity to do this wonderful project of Computer on
“Cloud Computing”. I came to know about so many new
things through this project and I am really thankful for this.
• Secondly, I would also like to extend my special thanks to
my parents and friends who helped me a lot in finalizing
this project within the limited time frame.

What is Cloud Computing?

Cloud computing is a way of storing, accessing, and

saving your work online instead of saving it on your
computer or your smartphone.
Cloud computing is a broad concept of using the Internet
to allow people to access technology-enabled services.
It is a hard disk over the internet.
Examples of Cloud Service
Providers
• Social Networking
sites.
• E-mail sites.
• Search Engines.
• Many more services
OVER THE
INTERNET.
History
• Concept was evolved by the scientist John
McCarthy, but with the name of ‘timesharing’.
• The term ‘Cloud Computing’ was coined by Prof.
Ramnath Chellapa in the year 1997.
• In 1999, the first cloud computing services websites
were launched- Salesforce.com and Google.
Cloud Components
1.) Client Computers: Clients are the
devices that the end user interact
with cloud.
2.) Distributed Servers: Often
servers are in geographically
different places, but server acts as
if they are working next to each
other
3.) Data centers: It is collection of
servers where application is placed
and is accessed via internet.
Types of Cloud Services
• Software As A Service(SAAS): Required
software, Operating system & network is
provided.
• Platform As A Service(PAAS): Operating
system and network is provided.
• Infrastructure As A Service(IAAS): Just
Network is provided.
Types of Cloud Computing

• Public Cloud
• Private Cloud
• Hybrid Cloud(Combined Cloud)
Public cloud

In a public cloud (also called external cloud), outside organizations

provide the infrastructure, software and platform required to implement
the cloud.

The public cloud follows “ pay as you go” model, you only pay for the
services you are consuming.

Email is the most basic and oldest type of services offered on the public
cloud.

Advantage: user don’t have to worry about managing the underlying IT

infrastructure.
Private cloud

A private cloud refers to having your own private cloud computing

infrastructure. So, instead of relying on an external, public cloud service
provider’s infrastructure, you would have your own.

In a private cloud (also called internal cloud), the infrastructure for

implementing the cloud is completely organized and maintained by the
enterprise.

It is most suited for large organizations or enterprise.

Hybrid cloud

• To assemble the benefits of both approaches private and public

cloud, newer implementation models have been developed to
merge both models into an integrated solution.
Advantages Of Cloud Computing

• Cost effective: eliminates the capital cost of

maintaining computing infrastructure.
• Speed and flexibility: allows faster access of
resources from anywhere across the globe.
• Ease of storage: offers unlimited storage space.
• Data security: cloud offers advanced security and
reliability features to the users for their data.
• Highly automated
• In the event of a disaster data is usually not lost.
Disadvantages Of Cloud Computing

• Dependent on Internet: requires a constant internet connection.

• Often limited or no technical support available.
• No control on traffic and data accessing speed.
• Stored data might be lost.
• Your sensitive data might be at risk from hackers.
Conclusion

• Cloud computing offers real alternatives to IT departments

for improved flexibility and trim down the cost. Markets are
developing for the delivery of software applications,
platforms, and infrastructure as a service to IT departments
over the “cloud”. These services are readily accessible on a
pay-per-use basis and offer great alternatives to businesses
that need the flexibility to rent infrastructure on a temporary
basis or to reduce capital costs. infrastructure on a temporary
basis or to reduce capital
