Objectives

By the end of this module the trainee should be able to integrate a BSC in
the network (Rel.04), performing the following actions:

• Create signalling definitions between BSC and MGW

• Create routing definitions between BSC and MGW

• Create BSC related signalling definitions in the MSS

• Create BSC related routing and cellular definitions in the MSS

For public use – IPR applies

BSC integration (Routing)

MSS MGW
• Create location area • Create circuit group. Type is SPE
• Create BSC (special) and use by VMGW.
• Modify BSC. Define signalling system • Add circuits to circuit group. PCM in
information. CRCT must match with TERMID in
corresponding circuit group in MSS.
• Create circuit group. Type is ECCS and • Change state of circuits
user part is BSSAP.
• Attach termination identifiers to the circuit • Change state of circuit group
group. TERMID must match with CRCT • Attach MGW- BSC TDM to virtual MGW.
definitions of corresponding circuit group • Add existing and new circuit group
in MGW. otherwise existing replaced by the new.
• Create route VMGW status should be registration not
• Change circuit group state available and registration not allowed
before this command.
• Change termination id state
• Define route of circuit pool in BSC.
• Create BTS.
• Define BSC - BTS – LAC relationship.
