INTRODUCTION
 INTRODUCTION
• The 'Police Crime Recording &
Investigation System' is designed for
commoners as well as police officers
that automates the crime recording
and investigation of Maharashtra
police force which facilitates people to
enquire ,file complaints ,granting
permission and also to send sos etc.
• It also facilitates officers a one
platform for looking up the duty area
assigned to them ,send alert
messages and provide proof of the
records
 MOTIVATION

• The main motive of this system

is to fill in the gap between the
police force and people so that
the people can completely rely
and lay their trust in the hands
of lawbearers.
 PROBLEM SOLVING
• Currently in Maharashtra most crimes are reported
to police by the victim attending their local police
station. It is inconvenient to physically go to the
police station and report the crime that has
occurred every time through this system the
problem can be eradicated.
• When somebody violates a law they can be caught
for their actions at the same time only when
witnesses come forward and acknowledge that to
the police through this system in few minutes itself
this will enhance public confidence to report crime
and make it easier for them as well
•  Keeping and maintaining books for thousands
complaints registered is a tedious work which can
engulf a lot of time
 Purpose

• To lessen manual work and

utilize time on other important
work
• In order to save environment all
records are kept digitally to
reduce paper work
• Make people aware of their laws
and rights.
 Objective

• To design a system that is a website that

automates the manual crime diary of
Maharashtra police force..This proposed
website is an online diary that will
• Help commoners have direct contact with
officers establishing trust and providing
the necessary help that they need
• Promote record keeping via digital means

• Crime against women is increasing at an alarming
rate in almost all parts of India and women in the
Indian society. Online crime reporting and
investigation system can lead to error free, secure,
reliable and fast management system and it can
assist the user to concentrate on the other
activities rather than to concentrate on the record
keeping.
 Project Scope

• The main aim of creating a crime

recording and investigation system is
to build one platform where anyone
can be in touch with the police in
emergency and seek protection and the
software is updated and recorded
automatically
• No formal knowledge is needed for the
user to use this system and hence it
proves it is user friendly

 Existing system

• In the existing Crime Investigation

Management System, no database is being
maintained for the past theft or criminal
activities and also in various police stations
or we can say almost all police stations the
criminals who get caught in the past has
their database being saved into the files and
documents which in future may lead to
missing up of any file and were not make
able to caught that theft again.
 Scope and limitations of existing system

• Even though the police crime and

investigation system is available it
but does not have enough
transparency
• It does not give an opportunity
people to report crime digitally
• formal knowledge is needed for the
user to use this system and hence
it is not user friendly

Crime Investigation Management System Modules
The given software has three kind of modules:
• Admin: All the activities which had been recorded
into the database or all the motions that had been
saved is only visible to the authorized persons or
admins of the software.
• Criminal: Criminal details along with their activities
or what crime they did is being maintained into a
separate module and the admin always keep an eye
on the database.
• Common people: The software also keep the track
on all the details related to the common people so
that in future in case any reference is needed than
just a simple click will help to solve out all the
problems.

 Features

• The victims can file the case through the

website under various sections and the user
can send photo evidence if any online.
• There will be an ‘SOS ’capability in which, the
user can press a button and his/her location
will be sent to the nearest Police station.
• There will be a separate component for the
accident victims so that FIR will be registered
fast and treatment will be started as soon as
possible.
Functional Requirements

• The proposed system calls under RDBMSWe

have also adopted JSP as front and for the
software & MYSQL back endPerformance
Requirements System should have a good
performance in terms of speed and
accuracyShould be accurate & taste enough to
handle huge data.It should provide fast
communication between & clients.The system
should be user-friendly that is anyone can learn
and use it without any hardship
 Security Requirements

• Ensure the retaining of data

avoiding .Eliminating any problem
cause for data loss. The reference
should not allow unauthorized access
to any module of the system It should
maintain the privileges granted to
users to various uses levels
 Conclusion

In this paper, a completely integrated and compact system

is developed that can be used by the common man as well
as the police and this system would be like a win-win
situation for both of them. This project will be widely used
in the future by the police department, the common man,
security agencies and even hospitals(for accident and
assault victims).The greatest strength of this project is that
it offers new features as well as retaining the original
characteristics of the existing systems(for example:
Criminal Database).
 Future scope
• In this paper, a completely
integrated system is
developed which can be used
by the common man as well
as the police. In the future
work, we will implement the
QR code scan for the privacy
of the user while downloading
the FIR details.
