ABOUT THE BMSCA

 BMSCA is affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi and recognized


by the Council of Architecture, New Delhi. Conveniently located in the heart of the city, it
has been a front runner in the field of architectural education for the past 40 years. The
college is well equipped with state of the art facilities and infrastructure and is strong
academically with well qualified faculty who are specialized in diverse fields of architecture.
BMSCA offers an environment ideal for stimulating discourse on art, architecture,
technology and sustainability. Hands on approach to the academic curriculum, research-
oriented creative thinking and a multitude of areas that fall under the broad umbrella of
architectural thinking, hones the BMSCA family into being better architects, designers and
ultimately better human beings.

 The B.Arch. undergraduate program was started in


1980. It is a five year program based on rigorous design
studio based learning wherein the complexity increases
with every higher semester. The curriculum includes
technology oriented courses like building construction,
building services and structures. Courses in architectural
history and theory along with visual arts and humanities
and a wide range of electives makes this a
comprehensive undergraduate course. Activities such as
guest lectures from the industry, seminars, hands-on
workshops, study tours and site visits gives students a
wide exposure. Mandatory professional training exposes
students to realities of the profession and industry.
ADMISSION PROCEDURE

 The B. Arch program has an intake of 120 per year. As per guidelines from Council of Architecture (COA), New
Delhi which is the governing body for Architectural education in India,
 The B. Arch aspirants need to have secured a valid score in any one of the entrance exams, viz NATA or IIT-JEE 2.
Students are admitted under the following categories KEA, COMEDK and Management.
 The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) releases ranks of students based on their II PUC the marks or 12
standard marks with Physics, Math's & Chemistry as compulsorily subjects and entrance examination scores.
 KEA then allots aspirants to the Institution based on student's preference for the college.
 Similarly, the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka the(COMEDK) ranks
students based on their II PUC / 12 standard marks and entrance examination scores and allots them to the
Institution based on their preference for the college.
 The Management candidates are selected and allotted by the BMS Management based on the merit and a valid
NATA / JEE 2 score in line with the guidelines specified in COA regulations for admissions.
