    DEFINITION
    o Pronoun is a word that replaces a noun in a
    sentence, a pronoun is used to avoid repeating
    the same noun in conversation or writing

    o Pronoun merupakan kata yang menggantikan


    kata benda dalam kalimat, pronoun digunakan
    untuk menghindari pengulangan kata benda
    yang sama dalam percakapan atau penulisan
    PRONOUN FUNCTION
    Secara garis besar, fungsi pronoun dalam bahasa Inggris adalah
    sebagai:

    Subject → He is my math teacher.


    Object → No one could call her yesterday.
    Object of preposition (objek preposisi) → I am afraid of them being
    offended.
    Subjective complement (penjelas subjek) → It is me who texted you
    via WA.
    Objective complement (penjelas objek) → They simply made it hers.
    Question word (kata tanya) → What is this?
    Conjunction (kata sambung) → The software that he used in the
    research was SDL
    TYPES OF PRONOUN

    Pembagian jenis pronouns (kata ganti dalam


    bahasa Inggris) dapat dibagi menjadi 3 (tiga)
    macam, yaitu sebagai berikut:
     Personal pronouns
     Possessive pronouns
     Reflexive pronouns
    PERSONAL • Personal pronoun adalah kata ganti
    perseorangan.
    PRONOUN • Pronoun ini terdiri dari:

    Contoh Personal Pronoun...
    • CORRECT : John and I will go to school. (subject)       
    INCORRECT : John and me will go to school.
    • CORRECT : The teacher gave him a bad grade. (object)      
    INCORRECT : The teacher gave he a bad grade
    • CORRECT : George with her has live here for ten years. (object
    of preposition)
    INCORRECT : George with she has live here for ten years.
    • CORRECT : It was she who called you. (subjective complement)
    INCORRECT : It was her who called you
    POSSESSIVE Possessive pronoun adalah kata ganti
    kepemilikan yang tidak diikuti oleh noun

    Yours milikmu/ milik kalian
    Ours milik kita
    Theirs milik mereka
    Hers miliknya (perempuan)

    REFLEXIVE • Reflexive pronoun adalah kata ganti yang

    PRONOUN dihasilkan dari pantulan pronoun itu sendiri.

    Ourselves diri kita
    Themselves diri mereka
    Herself dirinya (perempuan)
    Himself dirinya (laki-laki)
    Itself dirinya (hewan/benda)
    Contoh Reflexive Pronoun...
    •  I see myself in the mirror.
    • You will help yourself by doing that.
    • They should care for themselves.

    • Catatan:
    Reflexive pronoun biasa digunakan jika subjek dan objek kalimat merupakan orang
    yang sama seperti pada contoh di atas. Selain itu, reflexive pronoun juga dapat dipakai
    untuk menyatakan penekanan atau penegasan (emphasis), seperti: He himself wrote the
    letter (Dia sendiri yang menulis surat itu.) atau menyatakan kesendirian jika didahului
    dengan by, seperti: Anna lives by herself (Anna tinggal seorang diri).

    • The background of this writing is to add insight and find an
    easy way to explain material about pronouns, namely about
    the mening, function, and types of pronouns. It can be
    concluded that a pronoun is a pronoun that functions as a
    subject

    • Yang melatarbelakangi penulisan ini adalah untuk menambah


    wawasan dan mencari cara yang mudah untuk menjelaskan
    materi tentang pronoun, yaitu mengenai pengertian, fungsi,
    dan jenis-jenis pronoun. Dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa
    pronoun adalah kata ganti yang berfungsi sebagai subject
