External manifestations of sycosis are the cauliflower or

Dr. H.A.ROBERTS Sycosis is a venereal miasm, established after the suppression of gonorrhoeal discharge. Infiltration and overgrowth of tissue. Sycotic patient is too susceptible to the available constructive elements; he seizes upon & assimilates to the point of overgrowth of tissues. Of all the miasms sycosis is the most insidious one. It was spread widely during the years 1809-1814 (during French War) It is also called as the fig wart disease. Sycosis is not gonorrhoea. Gonorrhoea is an acute infection, caused by gonococci and it takes around five to ten days to develop urethritis. If it is completely cured, then Sycosis never develops.
The basic trait of sycosis miasm is confused mentally and
physically. This emits in his reactions: Reacts after a long time with a pause between action and reaction Reacts in a way which is harmful to himself No reaction at all Repression of emotions DEVELOPMENT OF SYCOSIS: STEP 1: Impure coition. The miasm has to be rubbed on the sensitive sexual parts of the body. STEP 2: Primary manifestations of sycosis, pus like urethral discharge, warts or condylomatous growths. Violent methods are applied to remove the growths several times. STEP 3: Secondary manifestations of sycosis, Sycotic miasm proper. MIND Jealous Suspicious Anger Irritable Rage Self condemnation. ABSENT MINDED SENSORIUM vertigo at base of the brain. On closing & opening eyes. Sensation as if insects or animals moving inside.
HEAD frontal or vertex.<midnight, lying down, riding. >motion, mental & physical exertion.
HEAD(external) hair falls out in circular spots. Fishy odor. Unwanted hair. EYE greenish yellow discharges, <change of weather, rainy seasons. EAR gouty concretions on the ear lobes. NOSE anosmia, snuffles, nasal blockage. Acrid, greenish yellow colored discharges smells like fish brine. Polypi of nose, moles & papilloma. FACE warts, moles, erysipelas of face. Mole papillomas. MOUTH. Gouty contusion. TASTE. Putrid, musty, fishy taste. DESIRE & AVERSION. Craves beer, more nuts, beans and cheese. Likes salt and both hot & cold foods. Desire for coconut, beetle nut. Aversion to meat and milk. LUNGS little expectoration. Cotton like saliva or ropy saliva. Bronchial cough & coryza Bronchitis, on expo to cold & damp weather. <autumn, winter. >summer. HEART Hammering & beating due to reflex like gastric, flatulence & uterine causes. >motion, riding gentle, local application. The valves of heart become rough, walls thick, muscles of heart flabby & lacking power, fleshy, puffy. STOMACH & ABDOMEN All complaints are <eating anything. >lying on abdomen, pressure, violent motion and doubling up. Fishy odor of all the discharges. All drunkards are sycotic. Diarrhoea is sycotic with cramps in the lower abdomen. INTESTINAL TRACT prominent spasmodic pain. >hard pressure, lying on abdomen. Painful diarrhoea with forceful evacuation of stool. Changeable consistency of stool with rare discharges of blood. Green grass watery stool. Sour stools. URINARY ORGANS painful spasms of urethra and bladder. Warts on genitals. Calculi and all recurring complaints of urinary tract . SEXUAL ORGANS sterility and infertility. Constant dwelling of sexual thoughts. Leucorrhoea thin, dirty, like green water, yellowish. Ovarian troubles, pelvic organ troubles, ovarian cysts. Hydrocele, frequent strong erections, orchitis. Keeps checking sexual organs. EXTREMITIES chalky depositions. Pains <by rest, >by moving, rubbing, dry weather, by storm & damp weather. Anatomical abnormalities. Sycotic Jt.pains are like stitching, pulsating, wandering. SKIN Eczema exfoliata, Herpes zoster, all forms of ring worms. All kinds of tumours, growths. MODALITIES
AMELIORATION AGGRAVATION: Slow movement, hot & Rest, rain, cold; damp active motion, lying on weather: 4a.m to 6a.m. abdomen
Phyllis Speight: The Sycotic patient is barometer. When it rains he
has pain; when the atmosphere is filled with moisture he suffers; when the elements clash, his organism is at war with itself; the rain, the snow, the cold, the barometer’s rise and fall are his enemies. REMEDIES: Chief remedies are Thuja, Lycopodium, Natrum sulph, Causticum, Kali sulph, Staphysagria, Nitric acid, Calc and Sepia amongst many others.
This miasm is held to be responsible for many sexual and
urinary disorders, and affections of the joints and the mucous membranes. Also those conditions worsened by damp weather and by contact with the sea.
