Roles and responsibilities

Role High Level Role Overview


• Machinists set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts
• Review blueprints to determine operational methods or sequences
Machinist
• Machine wide variety of hard and soft metal parts for the Aerospace and Semi-
Conductor industries
• May also fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools, using welding
equipment, grinding equipment and cutting equipment

• Hand finish and deburr a wide variety of metal parts and castings for the Aerospace
and Semi-Conductor industries
Finisher • Work with a variety of basic deburr & hand finish tools
• Knowledge of mechanics, metal properties, layout and machining procedures

• Inspect, test, sort, sample and weigh various materials, parts and products for
Assembly / defects, wear, and deviations from specifications
Inspection • Read work orders, blueprints and other instructions to determine products meet
customers’ specifications, material requirements, operational methods or sequences
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes
