• Description
The project is to provide a center point for the local architecture by reflecting local
architecture in the building and to provide an airport terminal for Peshawar city with
all the complete requirements of a safe and fully functional airport with every basic
requirement like standardized runways, location of the airport, functional building with
all the requirements. To design an airport terminal that will be the true representation
of the cultural environment of Peshawar city.
An airport terminal will be functional as well as aesthetically good to represent
Peshawar on an international level. To promote Peshawar and its culture and
architecture to the world
• Problem statement
 Peshawar has the only airport in the city but is not designed up to the standards
due to which most of the international airlines do not use it.
 The noise pollution by the airport as its location is near many public areas.
 Heavy stream of traffic on airport now a days
 No architecture representation in the building and the building is old with very less
services
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE PROJECT (MAIN FO-
CUS)
 The Airport will provide an opportunity to local people in

their trade and business internationally. It will have a
larger capacity for national and international travelers.
It will promote tourism in Peshawar. The airport will not
only be the new and advance technology airport but
also the good platform to show real meaning of culture
OF Peshawar. It is the good way to bring together the
development of modern technology as well as culture.
Hence having all the services with larger capacity of
people and travelers. It will be suitable for all the larger
and modern air crafts and also promoting Peshawar
culture to all of the world
DESIGN OBJECTIVE:
 To design an airport terminal that reflects the natural and cultural environments of Peshawar City
 To combine the concepts of functionality and aesthetics
 To Providing standardized facilities with all the modern technologies
 The application and use of modern architecture in combination with traditional and local elements and
structures.
 For Preservation of cultural and social values and to amalgamate the principles of local architecture
 To promote a sense of place as abstracted through architectural ideas, realized in the language of con-
textual originality

Summary of literature review
• Summary
While studying all the literature review my mind is cleared about the past
and present of the airport and the terminal, its spaces, its colours, and other
elements. So that I can design better for the future through this research.
And design it according to the local environment, people, climate. And will
fulfill all those things which in not exist in Peshawar airport
