ETHICS vs MORALITY

MORALITY - from the latin


moralitas/mos, which means “manner,
character or proper behavior”
- It is the conduct or rules that a person
or community adhere to.
- It gives us rules for everyday life.
• It is the standard of society used to
decide what is right or wrong
behavior.

ETHICS is taken from the Greek word


Ethos which means custom or
character. As originally used by
Aristotle, it referred to a man’s
character or personality, especially
in its balance between passion and
caution.

principles are valid. These principles
will guide a person determine the
rightness or wrongness of an action.

and confidentiality, informed consent,
