Identification of meterology,

microbiology, and
biochemistry instruments.
List of Instruments in meteorology
• (1) Sunshine Recorder (2) Anemometer (3) Wind Vane Instruments
• (4) Pyranometer (5) Stevenson Screen (6) Hygrometer
• (7) Ordinary Rain Gauge (8) Self Recording Rain Gauge (9) Barometer
A sunshine recorder is a device that records the amount
of sunshine at a given location or region at any time.
An anemometer is a device used for measuring wind speed and
direction.
A wind vane, weather vane, or weathercock is an
instrument used for showing the direction of the wind.
A pyranometer is a type instrument used for
measuring solar irradiance on a surface
A Stevenson screen or instrument shelter is a shelter or an
enclosure to meteorological instruments against precipitation and
direct heat radiation from outside sources
A hygrometer is an instrument used to measure the amount
of water vapor in air, in soil, or in confined spaces.
A rain gauge (also known as an udometer, pluvia metior, pluviometer,
ombrometer, and hyetometer) is an instrument used by meteorologists
and hydrologists to gather and measure the amount of liquid
precipitation over an area in a predefined area, over a period of time.
A barometer is a scientific instrument that is used
to measure air pressure in a certain environment.
• List of Instruments in Microbiology
• (1) Microscope (2) Balance scale (3) Centrifuge
• (4) Laminar airflow (5) Spectrophotometer (6) Refrigerator
• (7) Freezer (8) Autoclave (9) Hot air oven
• (10) Incubator (11) pH Meter (12) Water bath
Microscope is a laboratory instrument used to examine
objects that are too small to be seen by the naked eye.
Balance Scales A device for weighing.
A centrifuge is a device that uses centrifugal force to separate various
components of a fluid. This is achieved by spinning the fluid at high
speed within a container, thereby separating fluids of different densities
(e.g. cream from milk) or liquids from solids.
The spectrophotometer is an instrument which
measures an amount of light that a sample absorbs.
• Laminar airflow is used to
separate volumes of air, or
prevent airborne contaminants
from entering an area. Laminar
flow hoods are used to exclude
contaminants from sensitive
processes in science, electronics
and medicine.
• A water bath is laboratory
equipment made from a
container filled with heated
water. It is used to incubate
samples in water at a constant
temperature over a long period
of time.
• A pH meter is a scientific
instrument that measures the
hydrogen-ion activity in water-
based solutions, indicating its
acidity or alkalinity expressed as
pH.
• An incubator is a device used to
grow and maintain
microbiological cultures or cell
cultures. The incubator
maintains optimal temperature,
humidity and other conditions
such as the CO₂ and oxygen
content of the atmosphere
inside.
• Hot air ovens are electrical
devices which use dry heat to
sterilize. A hot air oven is a type
of dry heat sterilization. Dry
heat sterilization is used on
equipment
• An autoclave is a machine used
to carry out industrial and
scientific processes requiring
elevated temperature and
pressure in relation to ambient
pressure and/or temperature.
Autoclaves are used before
surgical procedures to perform
sterilization
