Reading for practice
Hello everybody! My name is Past Simple Boy because I am
very nostalgic and I always talk about the past. This is an old
picture of me. I was eighteen in this picture. It was thirteen years
ago.

I studied at University at that time. I lived with my friends Paco

and Luis in a big and old apartment. We played tennis and
basketball every day and we enjoyed our life. Every weekend we
watched TV and fished for trouts in the river. On Sunday we
relaxed and listened to music until late at night.

I finished my studies in 1995. A year later I started to work as a

Language teacher in a Secondary school. Life is not too bad, but
those days were fantastic!
A word of advice:
 Try to read out loud passages where you
can practice the pronunciation of regular
verbs in the simple past such as stories,
novels and newspaper articles.

 Remember that at first the different

sounds for the -ed ending may not sound
so natural. It takes time and practice to
master the correct pronunciation.
