MALE REPRODUCTIVE

ORGAN
MALE REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM
• Male reproductive system components in abdomen, pelvic and in peritoneum.

External parts of male reproductive internal parts of male reproductive

Panis testis
Scrotum seminal vesicles
spermatic cord
ejaculatory duct
prostate gland
FUNCTIONS OF MALE
REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM
• Production
• Maturation
• Storage of spermatozoa
• It can help to deliver the sperm or semen directly into the
female uterus
• Urethra helps to excrete the urine
PENIS
PENIS
• It is a tube like a structure that is externally visible
part of male reproductive system
• Male reproductive system contains the fibrous
tissue and vessels surrounding the penis
GLANS PENIS
• The tip of the penis expended is triangular shape structure that
is called glans penis

• Above the glans penis there is fold of skin that is called

prepuce of fore skin
ARTERIAL AND VENOUS
OR NERVE SUPPLY
• Arterial by internal pudendal artery

• venous by iliac vein

• nerve nerve supply by autonoms nerve
and by somatic nerve
SCROTUM
SCROTUM
• It is a pouch like structure , more pigmented area of external genitalia of male
• There are fibrous tissue connective tissue and muscles
• There are mainly two compartments ,each contain one testis

• Functions
• It is a skin fold that hold the both testis and protect them
• Testis make sperm and maintain the temperature
• Temperature of scrotum lower then our body temperature
URETHRAL OPENING
• Is a pathway for excretion of urine
• That present on tip of the penis
TESTIS(INTERNAL ORGAN)
TESTIS
• These are the male reproductive system glands these are
equivalent to the ovary of female
Length 4.5 cm
Width 2.5 cm
Thickness 3 cm
LAYERS
• Tunica vaginitis
• It is outermost fibrous layer of testis

• Tunica albuginea
• It is beneath to the tunica vaginitis

• Tunica vascular
• In this there is blood vessels present
TESTIS
• Testis contain 200 to 300 lobules
• Each contain 1 to 4 convoluted epithelial cell
• In tubules there is group of interstitial cell that secrete the
testosterone
CONTINUE………
• Head of the epididymis is the tightly packed mass that continue with
blood vessel or spermatic cord

• Functions
• secretion of testosterone hormone
• Production storage and maturation of sperm
SPERMATIC CORD
• It is the tube like structure that suspend the testis into the
scrotum
• It contain different arteries veins and nerves
• Outer most covering of spermatic cord made up of by
fibrous muscular tissues connective tissues and with fibrous
tissue
DIFFERED DUCT
• Also known as vas differed
• It is a tube like structure and 4.5 cm
• It is extended from the testis towards the inguinal canal and ascent
towards the posterior wall of bladder
• It join with the duct seminal vesicle and that form the ejaculary duct
SEMINAL VESICLES

• It is a fibromuscular pouches 5cm long and line just posterior wall

of the bladder
• They form a duct with defend duct and form the ejaculary duct

• Main functions
• During ejaculation they contract and expel the contain
• It form 60% of semen
EJACULARY DUCT
• It is a tube like structure 2 cm long and form by union by
duct that are form by seminal vesicle and defriend duct

• It will passes through the prostate gland and join with the
prostatic urethra to pass the seminal fluid and spermatozoa
directly to the urethra
PROSTATE GLAND
CONTINUE………….
• Prostate gland lines in the pelvic cavity
• Present in front of rectum and behind the symphysis pubis
• Outer covering is made up of fibrous glandular tissue and
muscles
• Weight In youth 8 gm
• In elder person at age of 50 yrs. 14 gm
FUNCTIONS
• It secrets milky thin contain that mix the 30% of semen a
give milky appearance
• It secrete the clotting enzyme that help the semen get
thickened
