Agenda
 Introduction
 Block Diagram
 System Components
 Circuit diagram and working
 Applications
 Advantages
 Conclusion
Introduction
 The first remote control, called “lazy bones” was
developed in 1950 by Zenith Electronics Corporation
(then known as Zenith Radio Corporation)
 Remote controlled Fan Regulator is to increase the
comforts of life
 Can be used around home or office from a distance
 The aim of this work is to design and construct a remote
control for a fan regulator. The remote control device
sends an infra-red beam, which is received by the infra-
red sensor on the regulator and the speed of the fan is
increased.

CIRCUIT DIAGRM AND WORKING
System Components
 Infrared Receiver Module
 IC NE555 Timer
 Decade Counter
 Transformer
 Voltage Regulator
 Opto Coupler
 Opto Isolator
 Triac
 Resistors
 Capacitors
INFRARED RECEIVER MODULE
 Here the infrared module used is
a TSOP 1738 infrared receiver which
works on 38 KHz frequency.
 The infrared module is used to
receive the transmitted signal from the remote
control.
IC NE555 TIMER
 Here two NE 555 Ics are used one
as a simple monostable
multivibrator and another as a
voltage control oscillator.
 The pin diagram of a IC 555
timer is shown in the figure.
DECADE COUNTER
 Here IC CD4017 is used
as a decade counter
having sixteen pins.
 The pin diagram of a
decade counter is shown
in the figure.
OPTO COUPLER
 Here a six pin IC MCT2E is used
as a opto coupler.
 A opto coupler is a combination
of isolated LED and a photo-
transisitor.
 The circuit diagram of opto coupler
is shown in the figure.
OPTO ISOLATOR
 Here a six pin IC MOC3021 is used
as a opto isolator.
 The working of the opto isolator is
same as that of a coupler except
that it works on a higher potential
than that of a coupler.
REGULATOR
 Here IC 7809 is used a a voltage
regulator.
 It is a electrical regulator designed
to automatically maintain a
constant voltage level.
 It is a 9V regulator regulates the
rectified 12V to 9V.
Applications
 Remote Controlled Fan Regulator

 Remote Controlled Light Dimmers

 Remote Controlled Switch to ON &

OFF any Electronic Device
Advantages
 Simple to Use and Efficient Circuit - Handy

 Easy Assembly

 Less Costly - Very Economic

 Compact Size – Occupies very little space

Conclusion
 Using “REMOTE CONTROLLED FAN REGULATOR” we
can make life more comfortable

 Reusable circuitry – Less investments for other

applications
