Assessment 3 summary

• 10 topics 10 reflections + video presentation


• Keep a weekly journal reflecting on what you have learnt that week (Topic 1 to 10).
Task: • Post your weekly reflection to the Discussion Board.
• Engage with other students; share your reflections and your thoughts.
• Finish the unit with a 4-minute PPT pre-recorded video presentation highlighting
your key takeaways.
Format: Weekly DB postings + 4 minute PPT prerecorded video presentation

Weighting: 30%

Word count/ 150 words per weekly posting


Duration Video: 4 minutes + 4 PPT slides

• Students are required to keep a weekly journal for
Topics 1 to 10 reflecting on what they have learnt
that week in that topic.
• Post your 150-word weekly reflection to the
Discussion Board.
• Share your thoughts with others.
• This type of journal is not simply a summary of the
course material; it should also include your
reactions to what you've learnt. The writing can be
quite informal.
• You are not required to formally reference, however
The Task reference should be made to any additional
readings and/or source materials such as videos and
podcasts.
• At the end of the unit prepare a pre-recorded PPT
video presentation highlighting the unit’s key take
away for you.

Students will be assessed on the following criteria:


• Focus of reflection (50%)
• Style and structure (20%)
• Video presentation (30%)

Just like all academic writing, a learning reflection needs a key
message that is used to structure the narrative. As a writer, you
need to make sure that your reader (or marker) understands the
significance of your reflection.

Listed below are some general ideas that may help you write

The benefits of developing your skills
in reflective learning
Reflective learners are more likely to develop a deeper
understanding of their
subject and to achieve higher grades as a result. Reflective learners
tend to:

• Be motivated, know what they are trying to achieve and why


• Be pro-active in extending their understanding of new topics and
subjects
• Use their existing knowledge to help them to develop their
understanding of new ideas
• Understand new concepts by relating them to their previous
