AIM
To build the canteen management system and to manage the details of food items, sales
and product
MOTIVATION

The main motivation of this project is to help


canteen owners and managers to maintain record
of the canteen
OBJECTIVES

•The purpose of the project is to build a desktop application program to reduce


the manual work for managing the food items, orders and sales.

• The project is totally built at administrative end and thus only the administrator
is guaranteed the access.

• This System automates each and every activity of the manual system and
increases its output.
LIMITATIONS

• The existing system only provides text-based interface, which is not as user-
friendly as Graphical user Interface.

• Excel export will not been developed for Orders, Products due to some
criticality.

• The transactions are executed in offline mode, hence online data modification is
not possible.
LITERATURE REVIEW
Building of Canteen Management System started years back. During those times they
were no serious management systems that could organize the task well enough according
to the growing customers. Many people came in the field to try and come up with new
advanced systems.
 
Electronic billing services are one of the most promising new tools of business-to-
business electronic commerce. The primary focus has been on improving the
inefficiencies surrounding the transactions. Canteen owners will realize improvements in
management performance, reducing paperwork while increasing access to valuable
information.
 
By following basic accounting principles, canteen owners can reduce expenses and scale
back operations during slow periods. Staying on top of the canteen financials also
provides an accurate measurement of management performance in every operational
area and gives owners a mechanism to see where they stand.

 Advantages
• Customer does not have to wait in long queues
• This application reduces paper work
• It is easy to handle product records for future
• This application also saves time

 Disadvantages
• This system suitable for only small canteens
• Online facility is not available
