❏ Introduction :
The term "Industrial safety" refers to the safety management measures used
in the manufacturing industry. These procedures are designed to safeguard
industrial personnel, equipment, buildings, and structures, as well as the
environment.
It entails lowering the number of work stoppages and production losses

caused by accidents.
It's all about reducing, controlling, and eliminating dangers in industries and
industrial units.
For the purpose of giving basic instruction in well-established approaches

for safety system engineering.

❏ Safety Performance Planning :
● Occupational health and industrial hygiene :
Occupational health studies the modes, effects and consequences of

environmental risks or chemical, physical, biological and ergonomic
limitations - on human health. The techniques are mainly medical
and research
Industrial hygiene involves control techniques to reduce or eliminate

the adverse effects of environmental hazards such as chemical,
physical, biological and ergonomic hazards on human health. Control
engineering is essentially engineering control measures intended to
measure, quantify, monitor, control, and eliminate.

● Understanding the risk :
➢ Risk Reduction refers to measures designed to prevent hazards from

creating hazards or to reduce the distribution, intensity or severity
of hazards. These measures include flood mitigation works and
appropriate land use planning.
➢ Emergency preparedness is a long-term program of activities whose

objective is to strengthen the overall capacity and capacity of a
country or community to effectively manage all types of
emergencies and ensure transitions. orderly from relief to recovery
and back to sustainable development.

❑ Accident Prevention :
● What is accident prevention ?
Accident prevention refers to the plans, preparations, and

actions taken to avoid accidents or stop them from taking place.
● General Accident Prevention :
Accident prevention includes all measures taken in an effort to save

lives, escape from injury, lessen the degrees of injury, avoid damage
to property, reduce treatment and compensation costs, and prevent the
loss of productive time and morale.

❏ Safety Organization :
● Basic Elements of Organized Safety :
➢ Plan: This involves setting up a target and planning of how it can be

achieved.
➢ Do: This involves implementing the plan in a systematic way.
➢ Check: Periodically the targets set, needs to be checked whether they
are been achieved or not and whether the results achieved are in line
with the expectations.
➢ Act: This step closes the cycle indicating whether any improvements
need to be made for any un-achieved targets and at the same time
deciding on new targets, for those are achieved.

● Duties of Safety Officer :
➢ Security guards are responsible for monitoring and

assessing dangerous and dangerous situations.
➢ Developing measures to assure personnel safety.
➢ Correct unsafe behaviors or conditions through the usual

sequence of commands.
➢ An emergency right can be exercised to prevent or stop

dangerous behavior when immediate action is required.

● Job Safety Analysis (JSA) :
➢ A Job Safety Analysis (JSA), is a process to identify the dangers

of specific tasks within jobs in order to reduce the risk of injury to
workers. A JSA is also often referred to as a Job Hazard Analysis
(JHA). When you complete a JSA, you're taking important steps
to protect your employees and ensure that your workplace is
compliant with standard safety regulations.

❏ Environment :
● Introduction, Work Environment :
➢ A work environment is the setting, social features and physical

conditions in which you perform your job. These elements can impact
feelings of wellbeing, workplace relationships, collaboration, efficiency
and employee health.
➢ When choosing a job or trying to stay productive, it's important to take

into account a company's work environment, which is the set of
situational factors that shape a company's atmosphere. While a positive
office atmosphere can improve your morale, a negative one can bring
you down.

● Protection of Environment in Global Scenario :
Environmental Protection is a practice of protecting the natural

environment at individual ,organizational and government level for the
benefit of natural environment as well as for humans.
Following are the ways for the protection of environment: Provide

filtered water, reduce paper waste, switch to LED lightbulbs, improve
air quality with indoor plants, set up recycling bins in common areas

❏ Industrial Security :
1. General security Systems in Factories:

Industrial security describes the protection of production and
industrial plants from faults, whether intentional or
unintentional.
2. Activation Security:
Activation security (also called launch security) helps control who can
launch a server.
3.Computer Security, Banking Security, V.I.P. Security, Women
Security, Event Security, Security in Open Environments.

❏ Conlcusion :
OSH knowledge, attitude and skills should be encouraged among employees

through proper safety training, when each individual employee will train
oneself as well as other employees by sharing knowledge, continuously
improving safety management practices, practicing safe activities, safe
behavior, then industries can succeed as receiving positive effects on the
working environment in terms of quality production, productivity
enhancement plus job satisfaction among employees. Employers should use
all available resources to learn about their obligations in keeping safe work
culture for employee and resolving hazardous situations.
