Present Future Tense
A. Definition of Present Future Tense
Present Future Tense is a form of tense that is used to show or explain an activity /
event that will occur in the future (future). The simple future tense also uses the
words "will/shall" and "be going to" both of which express future events. However,
both have their own function.

A. Pengertian Present Future Tense


Present Future Tense Merupakan bentuk tenses yang digunakan untuk menunjukkan
atau menjelaskan suatu kegiatan/peristiwa yang akan terjadi di masa yang akan datang
(future). Simple future tense juga menggunakan kata “will/shall” dan “be going to” yang
keduanya sama-sama menyatakan peristiwa di masa mendatang. Akan tetapi, keduanya
mempunyai fungsi tersendiri.
Present Future Tense

1. Will/shall is used to express things other than promises/plans that are uncertain, but
explain in more detail what will happen.
Example:
• He will go to market
• i shall phone you this evening

1Will/shall digunakan untuk mengungkapkan hal-hal selain janji/rencana yang belum tahu
kepastiannya, akan tetapi menjelaskan lebih detail apa yang akan terjadi.
Contoh :
• Dia akan pergi ke toko.
• Saya akan menelepom anda malam ini
Present Future Tense
2. Be going to is used for more certain events/promises/plans that are likely to be
implemented.
Example:
• We will study together at 06.30 pm.
• They will go to the library on Sunday
• I'm going to the airport tonight

2.Be going to digunakan untuk peristiwa yang lebih pasti/janji/rencana yang kemungkinan
besar terlaksana.
Contoh:
• Kita akan belajar bersama pukul 06.30 malam.
• Mereka akan pergi ke perpustakaan pada hari minggu
• Saya akan ke bandara malam ini
Time Signal: The time signals commonly used in the
Simple Future Tense are as follows:

1. this afternoon (nanti sore)


2. to night (malam nanti)
3. tomorrow (besok)
4. If (jika)
5. before (sebelum)
6. after (sesudah)
7. Till (hingga)
8. next week (minggu depan)
9. next Sunday (hari Minggu depan)
10. soon (segera)
11. when (ketika)
12. While (ketika, selagi)
13. as soon as (segera sesudah)
14. Until (hingga, sampai)

1. Verbal sentence
Verbal sentences are sentences whose predicates use/are a verb (verb).
a. Positive
Subject + will/shall + verb I + object
Subject + am/is/are + going to + verb I + objek
Example :
• He will watch his favorite movie.
• He is going to eat at restaurant tonight.

1. Kalimat verbal
Kalimat verbal adalah kalimat yang predikatnya menggunakan/bersifat kata kerja (verb).

• Dia tidak akan menonton film favoritnya.
• Dia tidak akan makan di restoran malam ini.

Am/is/are +Subject + going to + verb I + object?
Example:

To be (Is, am, are)
• Am is used for the subject I
• Is is used for the subject He, She, It (single subject)
• Are used for the subject You, We, They (plural subjects)

Menjadi (Apakah, saya, adalah)
• Am digunakan untuk subjek I
• Is digunakan untuk subjek He, She, It (subjek tunggal)
• Digunakan untuk subjek You, We, They (mata pelajaran jamak)

Positif Subject + will/shall + verb + object. I will go to Bali next month.
Subject + am/is/are + going to + verb 1 + object. I am going to send the letter next
week.
Negative Subject + will/shall + not + verb 1 + object. I will not go to Bali next month.
Subject + am/is/are +not + going + verb 1 + object. I am not going to send letter nexth
week
interrogative Will/shall + subject + verb 1 + object ? Will I go to Bali next month ?
Am/is/are + subject + going to + verb 1 + objek ? Am I go to send the letter next
week?
Noun Sentence
Noun sentence is a sentence whose predicate is not a verb but a noun, adjective or
complement.

Kalimat Nominal
Kalimat Nominal adalah kalimat yang predikatnya bukan merupakan kata kerja
melainkan kata benda (Noun), kata sifat (A djective) atau pelengkap (Complement).

Positive (Positif)
Subject + will/shall be + ComplemetSubject to be (is, am, are) + be+ Complement.
Example:
• Tono will be at home tonight.
(Tono akan berada dirumah malam nanti)

• he is going to be a teacher.
(Dia akan/ingin menjadi seorang Guru)
Negative (Negatif)
Subject + will/shall not be + Complemet
Subject + to be (is, am, are) +not+be+ Complement
Example:
• ono will not be at home tonight.
Tono tidak akan berada dirumah malam nanti.
• he is not going to be a teacher.
Dia tidak akan menjadi seorang Guru.

Terrogative (Pertanyaan)
Will/shall +Subject + be + Complemet?
To be (is, am, are) + Subject + be+ Complement?
Example :
• ill Tono be at home tonight?
Apakah Tono akan berada dirumah malam nanti?
• she going to be a teacher?
A pakah dia akan menjadi seorang Guru?
.Penggunaan Simple Future Tense
Present future tense digunakan untuk menyatakan beberapa perbuatan/
peristiwa sebagai berikut:

A. Conclusion
Tense means a verb or a group of words used to express a relationship of time. Nominal sentences cannot be
used as passive sentences. Active sentences only have an object that can be used as passive sentences.
Simple Future Tense is a form of tense that is used to show or explain something that will happen in the
future (future). Simple future is formed from verb-1 (future tense) or verb-3 (passive voice). The simple
future tense is used to express:
1. Used to express actions that will be done in the future.
2. Used to make a promise in the future
3. Used to show conditions
4. Used to beg someone to do something

A. kesimpulan
Tense berarti kata kerja atau sekelompok kata yang digunakan untuk menyatakan hubungan waktu. Kalimat
nominal tidak dapat digunakan sebagai kalimat pasif. Kalimat aktif hanya memiliki objek yang dapat
digunakan sebagai kalimat pasif. Simple Future Tense adalah bentuk tense yang digunakan untuk
menunjukkan atau menjelaskan sesuatu yang akan terjadi di masa yang akan datang (future). Simple future
dibentuk dari verb-1 (future tense) atau verb-3 (passive voice). Simple future tense digunakan untuk
menyatakan:
1. Digunakan untuk menyatakan tindakan yang akan dilakukan di masa depan.
2. Digunakan untuk membuat janji di masa depan
3. Digunakan untuk menunjukkan kondisi
4. Digunakan untuk memohon seseorang untuk melakukan sesuatu
