ATR MPD SECTIONS
. SECTION 0: RECORD OF REVISIONS

. SECTION 1: SUMMARY OF CHANGES

This section provides a quick overview of all the changes made on each individual task during the
process of a normal MPD revision.
All major items (MRB reference, threshold/interval, job procedure and effectivity) which have been
subject to a change are listed.
A cross in the 4 last columns of the “summary of changes” table indicates that a modification has
been
performed in the corresponding column of the MPD tasks. These 4 columns trace the following:
- DESC ACC PREP: changes in the “DESCRIPTION” column, including accesses and preparations if any
- ZONE: updates in the “ZONE” column
- M: modifications of data (figure, “a” or “p”) in the “M” column
-M.H: revision of figures listed in the “M.H” column
-Note: When a RAI task is revised to update a component P/N, the revised task appears in
section 6 only and not in this section.
• . SECTION 2: GENERAL INTRODUCTION
• 1. GENERAL
The Maintenance Planning Document (MPD) consists of a single volume in which all maintenance
tasks and associated intervals are listed.
The maintenance tasks are generated by the following:
• - MRB Reports, CMR and AWL.
• - Manufacturers' recommendations for economic effectiveness.
• - developments in the technical status of the aircraft.

The MPD provides the airlines with precise guidance for establishing their own Maintenance
Programsubject to the approval of their local Airworthiness Authorities.
• TASK INTERVAL UNITS
• Systems and Components, Power Plants and Zonal Programs
• Operational units
• - Flight hour (FH): Elapsed time between wheel lift off and touchdown.
• - Flight (FL): A complete take-off and landing sequence.
• - Landing (LD): A complete landing sequence
• . SECTION 2: GENERAL INTRODUCTION
• Calendar units
• - Daily (DY): ( One calendar day ) means that next due time is any time in day 2, if previous
• accomplishment done in day 1.
• - Monthly (MO): (One calendar month) means a period of time from a day in a month to the same day
• of the next month (ex: 4th). When there is no corresponding day, the period ends the last day of the
• next month (ex: from January 31st to February 28th).
• - Weekly (WY): (Seven calendar days ) means that next due time is any time in day 8, if previous
• accomplishment done any time in day 1.
• - Year (YE): (One calendar year) means a period of time equal to 12 consecutive months.
• Multiples of 1YE up to 12YE may be used.
• Letter codes
• The values, expressed in operational and calendar units, assigned to the various letter codes used are
• as follows:
• - “LC”:(Line check code equivalent to two calendar days) means that next due time is any time in day 3,
• if previous accomplishment done any time in day 1
• “A”: Equivalent to 750 flight hours.
• FH Values: A = 750FH 2A = 1500FH 3A = 2250FH 4A = 3000FH
• LUR values: A = 4.5MO 2A = 9MO 3A = 13.5MO 4A = 18MO
• - “C”: For each task concerned, the repeat interval corresponding to C is determined by the associated
• unit code: C = 5000 FH
• Multiples of C up to 4C may be used.

• . SECTION 2: GENERAL INTRODUCTION
• Other codes
• - National requirement (NR): Repeat interval value dependent on the Operator’s national
requirements.
• - Vendor recommendation (VR): Repeat interval value dependent on the Vendor
recommendations.
• - National requirement or Vendor recommendation (NR/VR): Repeat interval value dependent
on the
• Operator’s national requirements or Vendor recommendations.
• - NOTE: Repeat interval value specified in a NOTE located at the end of the task description.

• Structure program
• Tasks covering fatigue damage
• Most fatigue tasks are grouped at the following typical values:
• - Thresholds: 18000 or 24000 or 36000 flights
• - Intervals: 3000 or 6000 or 9000 or 12000 or 18000 flights
• In some cases, other values are proposed.
• Tasks covering environmental and accidental damage
• Thresholds and repeat intervals are expressed in calendar units as follows:
• 2 YE or 4 YE or 8 YE or 12 YE
• CONTINUED AIRWORTHINESS
• The maintenance tasks and repeat intervals specified in the MRB Report (reproduced in its
entirety in this MPD) together with the Time Limits document (Airworthiness Limitations -
AWL/ Certification Maintenance Requirements - CMR), constitute the maintenance
instructions that the manufacturers consider necessary to provide for the continued
airworthiness of the airplane.

• . SECTION 13: LOW UTILIZATION RECOMMENDATION
• . SECTION 3: CROSSREFERENCE
• This section provides a cross-reference between:
• - Manufacturers' modifications and service bulletins which are related to a maintenance task.
• - Source document and MPD task reference.
• - MPD task reference and source document.
• . SECTION 4: A/C ZONING/PANEL REVIEW
• This section is intended to provide general information on the aircraft major zones and sub zones
and to
• list access panels which have to be opened for scheduled maintenance.
• . SECTION 5: PREPARATION REVIEW
• This section is intended to provide job procedure reference as well as estimated manhours with
respect
• to aircraft preparation ("PREP" reference mentioned under the text of the Description column)
prior to,
• or during accomplishment of some maintenance tasks.
• These selected preparations are intended to aid operators in identifying tasks that require a
specific
• maintenance configuration status when it may not be immediately explicit in the MPD task
description
• or by the associated ATA.
• . SECTION 6: REMOVAL/INSTALLATION TASKS
• This section lists all the scheduled maintenance tasks which require removal (for discard or
restoration)
• and subsequent installation of an equipment or a component identified by a Part Number (P/N).
• The "equipment P/N" column is given for information, the list is not exhaustive and mentions only
• representative P/Ns involved in the MPD task. P/Ns may be listed with dash numbers replaced by
• parentheses "()" to cover a series. The intent is to guide Operators to use the Illustrated Part
Catalog (IPC)
• customized fleet database, which lists basic P/Ns, optional P/Ns, CMM (if available) and qualified
spares.
• The effectivity of MPD tasks included in this section appears in section 7 or 9.
• When only a P/N is updated, the movement code "R" is printed in the margin of the MPD task in
this
• section exclusively, but does not appear in the Section 1 "Summary of changes" nor in the
• corresponding section 7 or 9.
• . SECTION 7: SYSTEMS AND COMPONENTS PROGRAM
• This section lists all the scheduled maintenance tasks related to the aircraft systems and
components
• with the exception of the APU, engines and propellers.
• . SECTION 8: APU PROGRAM
• N/A
• . SECTION 9: POWER PLANT PROGRAM
• This section groups all the scheduled maintenance tasks
related to the Pratt and Whitney Canada
• PW121A, PW127E, PW127F and PW127M engines and
Hamilton Sundstrand 568F propellers installed on

• This section groups all the general visual inspection tasks
necessary to adequately check each of the
• aircraft zones on each aircraft in the fleet.
• . SECTION 11: STRUCTURE PROGRAM
• This section groups all the scheduled inspection tasks related to the aircraft
structure.
• The structure program is complemented by the zonal program detailed in
Section 10.
• . SECTION 12: LINE MAINTENANCE PROGRAM
• This section is provided to assist the Operator to establish the line check
program.
• It lists all scheduled maintenance tasks contained in the MPD for which the
repeat interval is below
• 200 FH or 1 Month.
• . SECTION 13: LOW UTILIZATION RECOMMENDATION
• The scope of this section is to provide ATR operators with the Low Utilization
Recommendation.
