ABSTRACT

Refrigeration is the process of removing heat from a substance under controlled conditions. Refrigerator is a reversed heat
engine or a heat pump which pumps heat from a cold body and delivers it to a hot body. The substance which works in a heat
pump to extract from a cold body and to deliver it to a hot body is called refrigerant. Refrigeration is an accomplished by
various methods, such as the vapor compression system, absorption system, and steam jet refrigeration cycle the vapor
compression system of refrigeration cycle.
Thermoelectric couples are solid-state devices capable of generating electrical power from a temperature gradient, known as the
Seebeck effect, or converting electrical energy into a temperature gradient, known as the Peltier effect. To assist the thermal
designer in thermoelectric coolers or Peltier modules, C&R Technologies' tool suite provides built in routines for standard
Bismuth Telluride coolers or modules manufactured from alternative semiconductor materials. The family of TEC routines
provides the designer the ability to model single stage or multi-stage coolers, and calculate valuable sizing information
regarding cooler performance.
Solar electricity is the technology of converting sunlight directly in to electricity. It is based on photo-voltaic or solar modules,
which are very reliable and do not require any fuel or servicing. Solar electric systems are suitable for plenty of sun and are
ideal when there is no main electricity.
INTRODUCTION

 Solar air conditioning refers to any air conditioning (cooling)

system that uses solar power.

 This can be done through passive solar design, solar thermal

energy conversion, and photovoltaic conversion (sunlight to
electricity) Photovoltaic's can provide the power for any type of
electrically powered cooling be it conventional compressor-based
or adsorption/absorption-based, though the most common
implementation is with compressors. For small residential and
small commercial cooling (less than 5 MWh/a) PV-powered
cooling has been the most frequently implemented solar cooling
technology.
FACTORS AFFECTING HUMAN COMFORT

The important factors while designing any system of comfort are

• Effective Temperature
• Heat production & regulation in human body
• Heat and moisture losses from body
• Moisture content of air
• Quality and quantity of air
• Air motion
• Air stratification

Physiological hazards resulting from heat and extreme cold are

• Heat exhaustion, Heat cramp, Heat stroke, Frost bites

• It works on the principle to run air conditioner by
solar energy.
• Solar energy received from the sun is concentrated

WORKING on the solar panel to convert it into electric energy.

• It is connected to the battery to store the converted
DESCRIPTION electric energy in it.
• Then the battery is connected to the inventor and
inventor is connected to air conditioner.
• When the necessary connections are made the air
conditioner starts and gives desired cooling.

WORKING OF THERMO ELECTRIC ZIP COOLER

It has a long pedigree. Using a combination of

the See beck, Thomson and Peltier effects,
cooling occurs when electricity flows.

The Cool Chip creates a thermal difference

(cooling) from electrical power.

Used for heating and cooling by simply

reversing the direction of the DC current.
SOLAR PANNEL

(PHOTO VOLTAIC METHOD)

The photon has to be absorbed in the active part of the
material.

Result in electrons being excited to a higher energy

potential.

The electron hole charge carriers created by the absorption.

The charge carriers must be removed from the cell &

delivered to useful load before they lose extra potential.
ADVANTAGES

Simple in construction
It is portable
Its operate in battery
Maintenance cost is low
Solar panel is used
This project is non-conventional
DISADVANTAGES

• High Initial Costs

• Reliance on Weather
• It does not purify air
• This system is noisy in operation
• Deterioration of Solar Panels
APPLICATIONS

Domestic Application

Office and Bank Application

It is very much useful in College & Schools

CONCLUSION

In this changing modern world every day there is a new discovery in all fields of
science and technology.
In this project the working is slightly modified with an addition air cooler.
If one utilizes energy which goes as waste even more useful things can be made.
Solar powered air conditioning is environmental friendly and it also helps people to
save money. Although it may seem a lot at first, it will become very helpful in the future,
not only for ourselves but also to our earth.
