Introduction:
We are aware that grammar is a serious topic. Others might think that
grammar does not matter, but at some point it does.
In this lesson, we are going to talk about Subject- Verb Agreement. It is quite
common for students, especially in elementary and high school, to have
mistakes in sentence structure. The most common mistake they make is in the
proper usage of subject and verb.
As part of learning, students will also complete some activities that will
enhance their skills in writing. Thus, the aim of this lesson is to nurture learners
and develop their writing skills which they will need sooner or later.
Objectives:
At the end of the lesson the students are expected to:

a. Familiarize the rules for subject-verb agreement.

b. Discuss the importance of subject-verb agreement.
c. Construct sentences observing subject-verb agreement .
Content:
 The lesson will focus on Subject- Verb Agreement in the sentence structure.
The learners will also identify what made the sentence incorrect as part of their exercise.

Activities:
 Discuss Subject- Verb Agreement thoroughly.
Highlight the importance of SV Agreement.
The More The Merrier- an activity that will be done in the motivation
part by the learners. The students will be divided into two groups and the
teacher will distribute a copy of story to each group. They will pick out
lines or sentences that’s correct in structure. Each group will write as many
answers as they could.
Students will participate in the discussion.

 Assessment:
 The teacher gives the students a 15-item test. This serves as an
evaluation that will measure their mastery and understanding of the
lesson.
Learners will also display their wit and skills through writing.
 As their final output for the lesson and their assignment, they will
create a Blog using Wordpress discussing the importance of SV
Agreement.

Summary:
The whole lesson requires the interaction between the teacher
and the students. The accomplished activities will help the
learners to enhance their writing skills as well as their
communication skills using English as a language. The said
activities will not just measure how much they’ve learned but it
will also develop their memory in retaining important
information from the discussion.

III. Procedure:

b. Motivation
Introduce the game called “The more, the merrier”.
Divide the class in two groups.Distribute one copy of the story to each group.
Instruct them to pick out the lines or sentences that use correct subject- verb agreement present in the story and write it in the manila paper provided.
Give them 5 minutes for reading.
Ask one participant from the group to present their work.Acknowledge the winner and give the prize.

c. Lesson proper
Proceed to the lesson Subject-verb Agreement.
Ask the learners if they have any idea about the lesson.
Introduce subject-verb agreement and its importance.
Discuss the rules that govern it and give examples.

d. Generalization

Ice breaker called ‘Name Game’.

e. Evaluation
The teacher gives the students a 15-item test.
Write a reflection paper about your thoughts about SV Agreement.
