Fields:
 NAME and THRU
Appropriate input for this filed is a specific JES name for an exact name
specification. Alternatively, the entry may be a masked name. Name
masking is accomplished by replacing one or more characters of the name
entered with an asterisk (“*”). Positions filled with the asterisks become
‘wildcard’ characters and match any character in name.

EXAMPLES: RESULT:
A***1 Any work with JES names such as “A0011”,
“ABCD1” or “AA0B1” would qualify.
A100B Work with names of “A100B”, A100b1” or
“A100B10C” would qualify.
A100B. Only “A100B” would qualify.
* All the work of the TYPE selected would qualify.
SAVRS Primary Control Panel Fields
Continue….
EXAMPLE:
Name U101 THRU U201
RESULT:
The selection of any work with JES names beginning with four characters
falling between or including the names specified. Thus “U10199” and “U18”
would both qualify, while “U100A” and “U201” would not.
 TYPE
The TYPE field is always required when selecting work from the Primary
control panel. This is a two character field which identifies the type of
work to be selected and is the primary criteria for selection. Valid entries
for TYPE, along with a brief description of each are as follows:
SAVRS Primary Control Panel Fields:
Continue….
JN,SN,TN Select JOBs, Started Tasks or TSO users by JES NAME. The
NAME field is required. All other selection fields are valid
except SYSLOG ID.
JO Select JOBS by JOB OWNER. When this type is indicated
the NAME field is required and specifies a value to be
matched against the NOTIFY and USER values for the
job. If either field matches the NAME value specified, a
match results. All other criteria except SYSLOG ID are valid.
J# Select JOBS by JOB NUMBER. When this type is indicated,
the NUMBER field is required and specifies a value to be
matched against the JES number for the work.
SL Select SYSLOG segments. The NAME, RETURN CODE and
PGMR NAME fields are not valid and are ignored if specified.
SAVRS Primary Control Panel Fields:
Continue….
AH Select Archive History. An entry in the NAME field is
required, however, the name maybe masked or generic.

 START DATE This field is valid for all selection types. It maybe specified
in any of the following formats:
mm/dd/yy (month/day/year 0 in standard format)
or (month/day – year defaults to current year)
yyddd, yyyyddd
or
yy.ddd, yyyy.ddd (julian date)
* (today’s date)
*-nnn
or
-nnn (nnn days before today’s date)
SAVRS Primary Control Panel Fields:
Continue……
 START TIME The START TIME field is optional for all types of selection
It is not valid for Status Report selections. When used, it
maybe specified in the following formats:
hhmm when four(4) digits are entered SAVRS assumes the hours
and minutes format in the 24 hour style clock.
* Current time.
*-hhmm hhmm before current time to a minimum of
or 00:00 when less than four(4) digits are entered.
-hhmm SAVRS assigns “minutes” and converts the minutes
mmm to hhmm. Example – If 90 is entered, SAVRS converts
this to 01:30; 91 becomes 01:31
h:mm,h:m, when a delimiter (“.”,”.” or “/”) is included
hh:mm SAVRS assumes the hhmm format .
SAVRS Primary Control Panel Fields:
Continue……
 END TIME The END TIME field is optional for all types of selection
It is not valid for Status Report selections. When used, it
maybe specified in any of the formats valid for START TIME
Additionally, a “+” prefix maybe used to add additional hours
and/or minutes to the start time.
END TIME maybe specified in relation to START TIME as
follows:
+ hhmm (hhmm time after the specified start time)

 RETURN CODE The value entered is matched against the Completion or

Condition Code values(CCODE field). The values entered
maybe masked, generic or entered as an exact name
according to the same rules listed for NAME field above.
EXAMPLES:
S0C4 Lists work with completed with a system abend of
S0C4.
SAVRS Primary Control Panel Field:
Continue….
S***. List entries which have a CCODE starting with an
“S” and are only four characters in length.
0000 or 0 Lists entries which have a RETURN CODE of zero,
regardless of what three character prefix it has.
4 or 0004 Lists entries which have a RETURN CODE of four,
regardless of what three character prefix it has.
 SORT FIELD Is not a selection criteria but is a way of ordering the
display of a directory

SAVRS Primary Control Panel Fields:
continue….
 END DATE Valid input types for END DATE are the same as for START
DATE as listed above. When this field is specified, the END
DATE of otherwise qualifying work must fall on or before the
date of this field. For SYSLOG, the last date in the individual
Syslog segment must be on or before the specified date.
When both START DATE and END DATE are specified,
they define a range of dates to be used as selection criteria.
In this case, END DATE maybe specified in relation to
START DATE as follows.
+nnn (nnn days after the specified START DATE)
