Paper-Based Lithium-Ion
Batteries Using Carbon
Nanotube-Coated Wood
Microfibers
Abstract
Lithium ion batteris using flexible paper base current collector have been developed. This current
collector fabricated wood microfiber that coted with CNT .capacity of batteris made with current
collector 150 mah/g.
Introduction
paper batteris are very flexible,lightweaight and energy storage device formed by carbon nanotube. while
CNT based current collector increase electrone flexibility they requird larg amount of CNT. Paper batteris act
as both high energy batteris.
What are paper batteris
Papper batteries are ultrathin and flexible energy storage battery made of CNT and paper. The functioning to
papper batteries is similer to chemical batteries. Conventional batteries may be easily damage but paper
batteries are non – toxic, non – corrocive, and light weight tham normal batteris.
What is separator
Separator is separate the anode and cathode.
Batteries have very compact in size for easy to use hence cathode aand anode very closely
packed
Seprator act as anode and cathode touching each other.
What is CNT
CNT means carbon nano tubes. CNT is allotrope of carbon. allotrop is nothing but diff of an element. CNT
exibit extraordinary strength and electrical properties.
Construction
Common xerox paper of desired length is taken.Aluminium rods are connected for carrying current.CNT
films coted with stainless steel substrate with solution base process .Thikness of film is 2 mm was formed
after cnt ink on the ss substrate at 80 degree c .This films act as elctrodes of paper batteries. One film is
pasted to electrolyte LTO and other films pasted to electrolyte at LCO.

 
Working
Traditional batteries produce electrons through chemical reaction between electrolyte and metel. Paper
battery produce electrons due to interaction of elctrolytes LCO nd LTO. Electrons on negative terminal of the
batterys and floe along the positive terminal during discharhing
Where can be use paper battery
Paper battery used in modern electronic device like digital watch , smart card.

It is used in latop battery , mobile phone , wireless mouse and keyboard etc
Why to use paper battery
Ultra thin and flexible structer

Cost – effective

Opertating temperature is -75 to 100 degree

Provide both long term

It required low mainatnce.

Laptop, mobile phone , digital cameras, wireless device like mouse , keyboard , Bluetooth headphone.

Automobile and aircraft : in long air flights for powering electronic device in satellite program.

Conclusion
Lithium-ion batteries with CNT-microfiber paper-based current collectors have been developed. Being
biodegradable , light weight , flexible , paper batteris have potentioal adaptability to next generation of
electronics , medical device, and hybrid vehical.
