    What is an

    infographic?
    Infographics defined:
    According to the Oxford English Dictionary, an infographic (or information
    graphic) is “a visual representation of information or data”.

    But the meaning of an infographic is something much more specific.

    An infographic is a collection of imagery, data visualizations like pie charts


    and bar graphs, and minimal text that gives an easy-to-understand overview of
    a topic.
    Infographic examples,
    like this one for schools,
    are great tools for
    educating a variety of
    audiences.
    Why are infographics used?
    Infographics are great for making complex information easy to digest. They can be helpful anytime
    you want to:

    •Provide a quick overview of a topic

    •Explain a complex process

    •Display research findings or survey data

    •Summarize a long blog post or report

    •Compare and contrast multiple options

    •Raise awareness about an issue or cause


    • Infographics are a valuable tool for visual communication.
    The most visually unique, creative infographics are often
    the most effective because they grab our attention and don’t
    let go.

    • But it’s crucial to remember that the visuals in an


    infographic must do more than excite and engage.
    What are the different types of infographics?

    Geographic infographics
    Statistical infographics,
    on the other hand, are more focused on
    numbers and data visualizations, charts, and data,
    for example:
    Informational infographics,
    for example, are typically more text-heavy than the
    other types of infographics.

    Timeline infographics are one of the best

    What is a process infographic?

    Process infographics are a specific type of infographic,


    designed to visualize, summarize and simplify processes.
    They’re perfect for visualizing marketing strategies, new
    employee onboarding, customer journey maps, product guides,
    recipes and more.
    A geographic infographic
    can cover a wide range of data. It can be super
    simple, or very complicated and dry. Whichever the
    case, the type of data you’re sharing should determine
    your design approach.
    A comparison infographic
    is a visual representation of the main features of
    two or more products, companies, events or time
    periods as opposed to each other.
    Hierarchical infographics 
    organize information into pre-defined levels.
    Use this type of infographic to show how
    information is organized into different levels, and
    how those levels are connected. These are usually
    visualized with pyramid charts or flowcharts.
    List infographic
    templates are generally straightforward—the goal is
    to make them more eye-catching than a basic list.
    Visuals like icons can replace bullet points, and creative
    fonts and colors can make each item stand out.
    Numbering the points in your list will help your
    information flow.
    An infographic resume
    is a type of resume based on visual
    representations of your skills and
    experience such as timelines, graphs, icons, or
    bar charts. Unlike a traditional resume style, which
    just uses text, an infographic resume uses graphic
    design elements.
