READ FIRST
The Importance of Trash Management
Management of trash is very important in Indonesia. As one of the countries with
big amount of trash from many sectors, proper management is necessary.
Firstly, it is important to provide healthy environment. When the trash is not
managed well, it will create area where bacteria can live.
Moreover, it can cause some health issues, and breathing issues become one of them
that can be caused by bed smell of the trash. Furthermore, bad management of
trash can lead to flood. When it is not managed well, trash can block the flow of
water.
As the result, water debit can increase during the rainy season and the channels of
water cannot deliver the water well. That is why it is very important to manage the

case. To make the persuasion stronger, the
speaker or writer gives some arguments as the
fundamental reasons why something is the
case.
PURPOSE
To persuade the reader or listener that there is something
that, certainly, needs to get attention
To analyze a topic and to persuade the reader that this
opinion is correct and supported by arguments
To convince the reader that the topics presented was an
important topic to be discussed or gained attention by way
of providing arguments or opinions
GENERIC STRUCTURE
• Thesis
• Arguments
• Reiteration
THESIS
Introduces the topic and shows speaker or
writer’s position. Introducing the topic and
indicating the writer’s point of view
“Management of trash is very important in
Indonesia. As one of the countries with big
amount of trash from many sectors, proper
management is necessary.”
ARGUMENTS
Explaining the argument to support the writer’s position. The number
of arguments may vary, but each argument must be supported by
evidence and explanation.
“Firstly, it is important to provide healthy environment. When the trash
is not managed well, it will create area where bacteria can live.”
“Moreover, it can cause some health issues, and breathing issues
become one of them that can be caused by bed smell of the trash.
Furthermore, bad management of trash can lead to flood. When it is
not managed well, trash can block the flow of water.”
REITERATION
 Restating the writer’s point of view / to strengthen
the thesis. We can use the following phrase to make
conclusion in reiteration.
“As the result, water debit can increase during the
rainy season and the channels of water cannot deliver
the water well. That is why it is very important to
manage the trash and it is better to promote the
recycling process”

The Importance of English

I personally think that English is the world’s most important language.


Why do I say that?
Firstly, English is an international language. It is spoken by many
people all around the world, either as a first or second language.
Secondly, English is also the key which opens doors to scientific and
technical knowledge, which is needed for the economic and political
development of many countries in the world.
Thirdly, English is a top requirement of those seeking jobs. Applicants
who master either active or passive English are more favorable than
those who do not.
From the fact above, it is obvious that everybody needs to learn
English to greet the global era.
EXAMPLE 2
The Importance of Hand Sanitizer
Hand sanitizer becomes important thing during the pandemic of
COVID-19. The chemical substance in the sanitizer can help you
cleaning your hand easily without using water and soap.
One of the reasons is that you will always use your hand to touch
something and make contact with other people.
During the interactions, virus can be transmitted, and applying the
sanitizer on the palm of hand is safe way to kill the virus. Then,
availability of water and soap sometimes cannot be obtained easily.
It will also take time when you have to go to toilet to wash your
hands. With hand sanitizer, you can easily clean your hands and avoid
the threats of virus.
