• The Meaning of Functional Text
Functional text in English is defined as a text that pro
vides information about something in everyday life.
Functional text because its use is adapted to certain f
unctions.
Type And Purpose
1.Greeting Card

The greeting card functions as an expression of sympathy and car


e for others.
Aim:•Members congratulate someone's success
To express sympathy for someone,To motivate someone who gets
achievement.
important things:Clarifying goals,using diction assesment
2.Invitation Card

Invitation
Function:
•to invite someone to attend an event.
•Section / structure: address (inviting person), gree
ting, message body of the sender.
Condition:
•must have a complete / clear address.
•Member clear time, place and activity.
•Provide adequate information.

A post card is a rectangular piece of thick paper or thi


n cardboard intended for writing and sending without
an envelope.

Functions:

A shopping list is a list of things you want to buy when
you go shopping, that you write down on paper.
