Sources of Data Like Sensor, Signal and Gps

Sensors are commonly found in homes, offices and vehicles, and are used to perform tasks like turning on lights when motion is detected, adjusting room temperature, detecting fires or gas, and opening garage doors as a vehicle approaches. Aircraft use an automatic flight control system consisting of numerous sensors that measure speed, altitude, position, and other factors to help the autopilot system safely operate the aircraft. There are many different types of common sensors, including temperature, proximity, accelerometer, infrared, pressure, light, ultrasonic, and sensors that detect humidity, tilt, fluid flow and levels.

Sensor Data:

We live in a World of Sensors.

You can find different types of Sensors in our homes, offices,

cars etc.

working to make our lives easier by turning on the lights by

detecting our presence.

 adjusting the room temperature,

 detect smoke or fire,
 make us delicious coffee,
 open garage doors as soon as our car is near
the door and
 many other tasks.
Real Time Application of Sensors
The example we are talking about here is the Autopilot System
in aircrafts. Almost all civilian and military aircrafts have the
feature of Automatic Flight Control system or sometimes called
as Autopilot.
An Automatic Flight Control System consists of several
sensors for various tasks like
 speed control,
 height,
 position,
 doors,
 obstacle,
 fuel, and
 many more.
A Computer takes data from all these sensors and processes
them by comparing them with pre-designed values.
Different Types of Sensors
The following is a list of different types of sensors that are
commonly used in various applications.

 Temperature Sensor  Smoke Sensor

 Proximity Sensor  Gas and Alcohol Sensor
 Accelerometer  Touch Sensor
 IR Sensor (Infrared Sensor)  Color Sensor
 Pressure Sensor  Humidity Sensor
 Light Sensor  Tilt Sensor
 Ultrasonic Sensor  Flow and Level Sensor
Signal Data:
A signal is an electrical or electromagnetic current that is
used for carrying data from one device or network to
another.

Signals include as temperature over time or space, sound

(speech, music, etc) over time, images over space, etc.
A signal carries information and contains energy.

A digital signal is a signal that is being used to

represent data as a sequence of discrete values;
GPS Data:
The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a navigation system
using satellites, a receiver and algorithms to synchronize
location, velocity and time data for air, sea and land travel.

The satellites circling the Earth, transmitting signals to users

on geographical position and time of day.

GPS receivers and transmitters including items like watches,

smartphones and telematic devices.
