Use of Science Kit

Science kits are designed to supplement formal classroom education by providing hands-on learning experiences. They contain lab equipment, materials, and manuals to allow students to learn science experimentally. While science kits can help provide resources and engage students, some critics argue they may not align well with school science programs or encourage discovery-based learning. Teachers must consider how kits fit with their curriculum goals and lesson objectives. When used appropriately, science kits can promote conceptual understanding, active learning, and make science fun and enjoyable for students.

Use of science kit

Introduction
• Science kits are designed to supplement
formal classroom education. These kits
contain lab equipment, materials, manuals,
and references to be hands-on to provide a
holistic learning to students.
• Science kits are sometimes regarded as remedies for problems
of school science equipment.
• where school laboratory facilities are limited, kits can mice
possible greater student participation in laboratory type activi-
ties. They can make needed materials available in conveniently
packaged form for teachers who have little time or training to
prepare science demonstrations. Where storage space is at a
premium, their -compactness is an asset. They are sometimes
an economical source of supplementliry science materials and
may provide matched equip- ment and materials at less cost
than the same items purchased sepa- rately.
• Interest in science and experimentation may
be stimulated by .their use. The poorly
motivated student may become interested in
theory through achieve- ment of the hand skill
used in their assembly or, at a less #mbitious
level, may Acquire an interest in science-
related hobbies.
Purpose

• Educational science kits are indeed the safest way to

learn science.
• There are many theories and principles in science that
can be understood only when demonstrated practically.
• There are science kits to explain functioning of electronic
gadgets like computers, mobile phones, freeze, heaters,
washing machines, air conditioners, and so on.
• These science kits include safe ingredients to ensure
maximum safety to children while experimenting with
them.
Benefits

• A child is able to learn science experimentally with the

help these kits.
• Experiential learning or learning by experience is
essential for turning knowledge into wisdom for children.
• It helps a child to absorb more knowledge and ensures
that the learning stays in the mind for longer time.
• Classroom teaching is not sufficient if you want your
children to grasp more knowledge.
• Educational science kits make learning more effective for
students.
purpose
• These kits are mainly designed to impart
knowledge because they provide detailed and
subtle facts on various aspects of life and
physical sciences. They are mainly popular
among the students who learn science and are
curious to experiment on various scientific
facts and data.
• science kits is that they make learning, a great fun.
• Classroom learning is believed to be boring because
kids get bored listening to long classroom lectures.
• Science kits on the other hand make learning fun and
enjoyable.
• Because these kits are hands-on, children are able to
have fun while experimenting.
• For instance, a science weather kit produces thunder
sound and lightening which entertains the kids and
makes them grasp things in a much better manner.
disadvatages
• Kits, say their critics, may be of limited use, or unsuited to the
school science program.
• Their names can be misleading. They may consist'of mere
collections of unrelated scientific novelties which contribute
little to the understanding of basic concepts, and the instruction
manuals -which accompany them may encourage "cookbook
science" rather than any interest in discovery.
• Sometime the cost of a kit is higher than the total cost of the
individual component items; replacement of parts may be a
recurring problem, since some kits are useless if key pieces are
lost or broken; the quality of their construction may not
measure up to standards for science equipment;
• The decisions a teacher makes regarding the
use of kits or any other items of equipment in
science learning are directly related to the
type and purpose of the activity involved.
features
• (1) they promote conceptual understanding;
• (2) they promote active learning Using Science
Kits and exploration,
• (3) they provide background information for
teachers,
• (4) they provide most lesson materials and
supplies;
• (5) they include appropriate sequencing of
science ...
