NATIONAL ASSESSMENT AND CERTIFICATION
ARRANGEMENTS
1. To attain the National Qualification of ELECTRICAL
INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE NC II, the candidate
must demonstrate competence in all the units listed below.
Successful candidate shall be awarded a National Certificate
signed by the TESDA Director General.

2. The Qualification of ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION AND
MAINTENACE NC II may be attained through demonstration
of competence in a project-type assessment covering all the
units of competency.

Install electrical protective devices for distribution, power,
lighting, auxiliary, lightning protection and grounding
systems
Install wiring devices of floor and wall mounted outlets,

3. Assessment shall focus on the core units of competency. The
basic and common units are assessed concurrently with the
core units.
4. The following are qualified to apply for assessment and
certification:
Graduates of formal, non-formal and informal including
enterprise-based training programs
Experienced Workers (wage employed or self-employed)

SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE COMPETENCY
ASSESSOR
1. Prepare and make available the attached list of tools, equipment
and materials, instruct the candidate to perform the following
tasks in accordance with the set performance criteria:
Performing roughing-in activities, wiring and cabling works
for single-phase distribution, power, lighting and auxiliary
systems in three (3) Hours;
Install Electrical Protective devices for distribution, power,
lighting, auxiliary, lightning protection and grounding system
in two (2) hours
Install Wiring Devices of Floor and Wall Mounted Outlet
Lighting Fixture/Switches and Auxiliary Outlets in two (2)
hours.
2. You will choose which of the two sets of demonstration (SET A
and SET B) will be assigned to the candidate.
3. Allow the candidate to get familiar with the resources to be used
in the assessment for 15 minutes.
4. Observe the candidate while performing the required tasks. You
may, at any suitable point, instruct the candidate to stop, and if
situation warrants, advise him/her not to continue further with
the demonstration.
During and after the candidate’s performance, assessor may
perform oral questioning to test the candidate’s knowledge and
skills on actual procedures and installation.

5. The Assessment shall be based on the units of competency in
the Training Regulations and the Evidence Plan and shall focus
on evidence gathering method below:

6. At the end of the assessment, you shall provide the candidate
feedback on the assessment result. The feedback shall indicate
whether the candidate is:
