Problem Solving Is A Teaching Strategy That Employs The Scientific Method in Searching For Information

Problem solving is a teaching strategy that uses the scientific method to gain knowledge and solve puzzling questions. It trains students in reasoning by having them clarify the problem, plan solutions, try plans, and try new plans if needed. Effective problem solving uses meaningful, life-relevant problems that are related to subjects and student needs, clearly defined, and involve student participation to develop higher-level thinking skills. While time-consuming and requiring sufficient background, it builds important problem-solving skills.
